postpaid activated without address verification and later disconnected after few days without any information

I converted my number from prepaid to postpaid and it was activated on 26th of August’2013. It is a Karnataka number. After a month, I traveled to Assam and suddenly on 25th of Sept’2013, my mobile started showing “No network Coverage”. I waited for 2 days and then I called to the customer care in Assam, and they told that since the address verification is not completed , my service is barred and asked me to contact Karnataka customer care. I called to the Karnataka customer care, they told since address verification is not done, they cannot resume the service. I argued that address verification is not my responsibility and since without its completion, a post-paid number cannot be activated, why did they activated it at the first place. It is a fault on their part as Telecom Regulation says that without address verification , a mobile number cannot be activated. They argues back saying that now they cannot do anything until I go back and be available for address verification. I told that I will be in Bangalore on 7th Oct, 2013, and why do I suffer for another 10 days. Finally, I told that you have to do something as this is your fault and I am suffering without any reason. Then on 30th Sept’2013, I called the nodal officer of Karnataka, explained the executive everything, and he was also repeating the same thing. Finally after 40 mins, he told, he will raise a complaint to the concerned department and I will get a call within 72 hrs. I didn’t receive any call and I called back again on 4th Oct,2013. I talked to the same person with whom I talked on 30th Oct. He says he tried reaching me on my alternate number, but he was not able to. I am not sure, how true is that. Then he told that now, nothing can be done, as Sat and Sun, office will be closed and on Monday, they can work to resolve this issue. This is how , I was made a fool, because, Monday(7th Oct) anyways I will be back to Bangalore, and address verification can be done and they will anyways resolve the issue easily but the days when I was completely paralyzed without having mobile, internet. They told they cannot do anything. Thats all!!! First of all, why they activated my service without address verification. Secondly, if it was activated, why they barred it without any notification or information, that too, when I was out of station and I cannot be there for address verification. Thirdly, I was not sent any mail or any message that your service is barred for so and so reasons, please take action. This is sheer harassment and making the customer fool. And at the end of the month , they will send a bill of 800 rs, even after the service was not available for 10 days.

Out of anger, I filed a complaint in various complaint forums. They called me within 2 hrs and activated my number. And also asked me to be available for address verification as soon as I reach Bangalore.
I was expecting a call from them on 7th Oct.

BUT…..this was not all…there is a lot more to it…. But, to my utter disappointment, they disconnected the service again on 8th Oct, again without any information. I called the customer care(121), the executive tells that he can’t retrieve information now as they are facing some technical issue and asked me to wait till 10 A.M, 9th Oct. I asked him the number of the address verification department. He gives a number, 59059. I called to that number. Guess what, IVR said, call 121 for any queries and the call got disconnected. I called 121 again, another customer care executive received my call, I explained him everything, he found that issue, which was address verification not completed. I told him, why I was not informed earlier about this and why nobody contacted me for address verification before barring my service. He told that I have to go to airtel store to get this matter resolved. I argued, why I should go, rather you people should come to the registered address for verification. He disconnected the call. This was strange. I was so irritated. I called 121 for the 3rd time, another customer care executive received the call, I explained to him everything again. He told let me put you on hold, meanwhile, I will check the details. He kept me on hold for about 10 mins and disconnected the call. Isn’t this pathetic. These people are doing whatever they want. My question is, why should I call them to get the verification done? Why I was not called on 7th Oct? How can these people take this matter so casually? Getting disconnected from the rest of the world, being a network service provider, they don’t understand how critical this situation is for a customer. Whoever is concerned, please please take necessary action against these people…

WORST WORST service I have ever seen….
Customer care people also seems careless and rude.

Its been 14 days now in total, that I am not able to use this service and without any information till now….Is it justifiable??

Please take strict against such service providers.
