Philips refusing to repair LCD TV outside warranty and asking for hefty repair charges

Location/place: Rohini/Delhi

My TV is lying at Rohini Philips service center from last three months.
1.
The technician was unable to demonstrate the problem when he came to home.
2.
Service center said that the tuner board had gone faulty and it can be repaired at around 9000. I agreed.
3.
Got a call from them after a week that this board can’t be repaired and had to be replaced and asked for 16000 rupees.
I checked with customer care people and they said they will get back. They never got back on this. How can a company ask for such a sum to repair a board? Why do they give only one month warranty on it? No one has an answer to it.

After much fight somehow i got the customer care manager’s phone number and he said that he will check. After long, he told me that he can help in replacing with a new TV at nominal cost. He asked me to find the original invoice. I did that, he took two weeks and at the end he said that Philips company did not agree to this request.
I even contacted some senior LCD TV customer care manager but he never wanted to look into my case. God knows why Philips has hired such people who don’t know their job.

I had spent 5000 rupees last July on this TV repair (what kind of TV is philips producing). When i asked him to get some discount (I wanted to pay not more than 10000) from the company, he asked me to send the bill copy. I took some time in finding it and today i had send him the same. When all the details are there in company database, why is he asking for me to furnish things from my end?
There have been innumerable calls in recent past to their care center and many a times people don’t pick up the phones, don’t respond to emails and likewise.
I don’t know whether my TV will get repaired to my satisfaction but most certainly i wanted to tell India on Philips LCD TVs quality and support they provide.
BTW my TV is 3 years and few months old only.
