Paying compensation for Consumers

I am Selvakumar.J, aged 27, residing at Chennai posting this complaint seeking Justice.

Normally, all the telecom companies nowadays are started charging for the calls which they are receiving in the customer care from their Customers.

In general the customers are calling to their respective Customer Care Centers only when there is a need / clarification / help on their part. No customer is finding adequate time to call unnecessarily to a customer care centre.

Hence when there is a need for clarifications / help required for a customer it is the duty of the service provider to offer solutions for free of cost. Instead, service providers are charging customers for receipt of call from their customers without any mercy.

In contradict to the above, the service providers are very frequently calling customers and disturbing them without any pre-request / clarification from the customer in the following ways.

1. Calling and explaining to change the plan.
2. Calling to explain their offers if any without any requirement from the customer.
3. Sending SMS alerts about Astrology / Jokes / Caller Tunes

These unwanted calls received from Service Providers leads to disturbance on my regular duties at office hours, leads to distraction during driving and also leading to disturbances to the sleeping children in the home.

Hence at this juncture, I am requesting this Honorable court to direct the Service Providers to pay the consumers on the occasions when they are disturbing them for their promotional activities.
