pathetic service from tata sky customer service and amt wrongly debited

I have a Tata sky subscription a/c no 1000788123 I had lodged a complaint on 1st july ’13 requesting for an engineer to be sent for servicing as my connection was not working. I had specially requested that the person be sent on Monday 1st july itself as I would not be available anytime during the week. I had spoken to Aaron, Hamid & Sharukh for the same. Mr Sharukh had confirmed that the engineer would contact me immediately & would come the same day within 2hrs, however no technician came.

However on 5th july I received a message from Tata sky that an amt of Rs.301 needs to be paid by me. My mother called Tata sky help line on 6th july to understand the reason for the message as we have paid Rd.4510 on 20/03/2013 towards annual subscription which was effective from 26/03/2013, hence my renewal payment comes due only on 25/03/2014. She was informed that there was a debit balance in my Tata sky account of Rs.154.00 as the amt was debited towards service charge for work done by the technician.

We had immediately informed them that no work has been done at my residence so the charges are wrong. They had assured that they would look into the same immediately. However until 10.40am today 7th july no action had been taken.

Sir the Tata sky help lines are such that they connect to any of their call centres anywhere all over India, so you can never speak to the same person to followup on a complaint. Today morning when I called up to follow up on my complaint I spoke to Ms Swapna ,team leader at jamshedpur centre. She was the most uncourteous customer relationship manager. She kept my call on hold for over 15 mins & then disconnected the line. I then called up Tata sky helpline again and was connected to the Mohali centre. There I spoke to a floor manager Mr.Sanjeev Sharma. Although he helped resolve the technical issue with my connection but failed on his commitment of his back office team calling to resolve my issue of refunding the amt wrongly debited within 2hrs.

Infact today at 1:38pm despite having complained in the morning I have received a message from Tata sky to make a recharge payment of Rs.301.00 immediately else my Tata sky connection will be deactivated tonight and a suspension fee of Rs.10 will be charged.

I had to again call Tata sky helpline @3:11pm to complain regarding the same and this time I was connected to their Chennai call center. There I have spokenwith Mr.Srinath the floor manager and Mr. Devesh.

Tata sky has put me through a lot of inconvenience since the past 7 days, firstly for having to make several calls for a simple service request and then repeated calls to complain regarding wrongful levy of service charges. Secondly they have put us through mental torture and stress as we have to keep repeating our greviance to different people everytime we call as it is a different centre in a different part of India everytime.

We have subscribed to Tata sky only because of the name Tata since we had a lot of faith in the family name. But their Tata sky television satellite services are out to fleece people by simply charging for services they have not provided.

How can they charge me for services of a technician without the person doing the job nor without my signatures on their service memo. How can they not address a complaint of fraudulent debit within 24hrs? Is there any more value left for customers? I have paid annual subscription for the entire year for my convenience, then how can they eat my money and send me ransom messages for service charges for services not provided.

Sir, we have alot of faith in consumer forum and hence would like to bring to your notice the wrong practices being followed by Tata Sky television satellite and the harassment they put their subscribers through.

Request your help in getting the wrong amt debited reversed from Tata Sky.

  1. We have a TATA SKY connection
    when it was the time to subscribe for the connection these people they rush and try pleasing you all the way showing off their differentiation with respect to other competetors but when consumer complains even during warranty period they become deaf ear and treat us beggers for help…

    m unsattisfied with after sales services of TATA SKY and Hope the respective people show sensitivity to such complaints of their customers.
