I was very interested in switching to Tikona’s WiBro services and had applied online in order to check availability of services in my area. I was immediately contacted by one of the reps and was assured uninterrupted services. I went ahead and made an online payment of Rs. 1347 that was cleared on 10th of May 2012. I received a text confirmation and a User ID as well. Thereafter, I was contacted by one of their local technicians and he came down to my place for installation. However, after spending 5 rigorous hours on the terrace, he could not find proper signals in order to be able to install the device and start the service. We could see the Tikona tower from my place, located at a distance of 100-150 meters away, but to no avail.

I was promised resolution and their technician came with his superior the next day, tried again for 3 hours and went back after failed attempts. Thereafter, I did not hear back from them again. I have waited for a response long enough, and would like to terminate this relationship. Having contacted them over the phone time and again since May 2012, technicians have been falsely promising that they will cancel the services and issue me a refund since I did not use their services for a single minute.

However, after having sent numerous emails to [email protected] and to the Appellate Authority at [email protected], I have only received auto-generated email replies and fake, useless Docket Numbers with false promises. Here is one of them, dated May 22, 2012:

Dear Mr. Dutta,

Greetings from Tikona!

This is with reference to your below mentioned request. We regret the inconvenience caused to you.

We would like to inform that, the request is in progress and it has been forwarded to the backend department for necessary action.

Your Docket Number is 1-2323027091. Kindly retain this for reference purpose.

In case of any further assistance, please call us at 1800 20 94276 or email us at [email protected].

This has become their regular response and I am really surprised how these swindlers manage to run business in the country without the authorities taking proper legal actions against them. This will be my last attempt to resolve this pending issue and their last chance to clear up their act; I am ready to escalate the matter legally and get the scam stopped for good. I absolutely do not care how much this is going to cost me, I am ready to spend any amount in order to get this company sued if I do not receive a positive response this time around.
