Non allotment of seat in flight despite confirmed booking

Sir,
I’m An army officer posted in far flung areas of J&K.I proceeded on a small leave for some very imp personal work.
I bought a ticket from delhi to patna from air india website for flight no AI 409 scheduled on 24th Jan 2013 at 1020 hrs.I received a message & call from air india authorities that my flight has been rescheduled at 1330 hrs.I reached IGI airport at around 1200 hrs.When i reached the check in counter for collection of boarding pass i was told by the authorities there that there were no seats available in the above flight despite me having a confirmed booking in AI 409 flight.On further enquiry i was told that since the size of the flight has been decreased u can not be accomodated in the flight.I was told that i will be given seat in next flight to Patna i.e.AI 415 scheduled at 1515 hrs bt the finally flight took off at 1730 hrs.My ticket no is 098-2105653613 & PNR is Y5SGJ dated Jan 15,2013.My boarding pass no is 0982105653613C1.Due to this apathetic attitude by air india authorities i had to wait at d airport for over 6 hrs & missed an imp appointment.I had to suffer lots of inconvenience and mental trauma.I urge you to take appropriate action against them and provide suitable compensation to me to the tune of over Rs 50000/-
