I bought MTS data card in the mid of November, 2014 believing that they offer high speed internet. The person who came for demo had a device which unusually performed with high speed. This is like a man selling toys or flute on the street, where the toy or flute works only when it is in his hands. Trusting that sales person, I bought MTS data card on payment of Rs.1000 and he told me I will own the device and no rentals for the device is to be paid. As you all know that you can buy an MTS dongle even in an electronics showroom. That means that license is sold and not licensed, you are the owner of that hardware. On purchase, I asked the sales person to activate the service on Dec 1, 2014 but the service was not activated. I made several customer care complaints to activate the service, but I did not receive any call back. Once a MTS employee called me at 10 in the night and asked me whether I am using the dongle. Is this the right time to call? Fed up with the service on Dec 23, 2014 I sent a mail to customer care service “requesting for cancellation” as the service was poor. In spite of all this they raised a bill against me for Rs. 521 initially. Post this I got a call from customer care and the person informed me that this charge will be waived and would I be interested to continue the service. I well informed that I have no interest to use MTS any further. Later on Jan 20, 2015 I am receiving a mail demanding payment of Rs 1621 overdue charges. I seriously do not know how to handle this fraudulent behaviour form MTS. Now I am receiving calls at odd hours threatening payment otherwise legal action will be initiated against me. I forwarded that mail which I sent earlier for ‘cancellation’ but they say that I have to pay rental. Should I pay rent for the device which I own? Will a customer be intimating 100 time to cancel the service. Will it be a mistake on part of the customer. To have records only we send mails but they are not considering this. I have not used any GB from till date. The device was never activated from my end. This situation is getting worst. Now they are sending me legal notice. What should I do?
