Hello,
My name is Joy and I’m working in a private organization at Chennai. I’m staying as a paying guest in the apartment provided by Metro Inn services. I’m staying in this apartment from February-15 2013. The issues we all are facing in the apartment are mentioned below;
1. AC gets switch on automatically- My priority issue is, the AC in my room gets switch-on automatically when electricity comes back. Here we already have power fluctuation issue in this apartment due to which- even if I keep the AC in off state it gets switch-on and because of that my meter reading count is increasing abruptly. I goes to office by morning after switching off all the electric equipment in my room; when I return I find AC is switched on. This issue is being continued from day one, and I have reported this issue many times to Metro Inn. Even their electrician informed that there is no remedy for this issue as AC is very old and its components are not available in the market. I’m following up with Metro Inn on this issue from long time but every time they keep on neglecting this issue and unnecessarily charging electricity bill, of which I have utilized only 25-30% rest is all due to faulty AC unit.
2. No safety/security: The doors do not have latches and locks on them. The incoming and outgoing path to the house is totally open and they do not have care take as well. Anyone can get into the house from terrace as they do not even have proper door there.
On discussion with management people, they assured that they will avail us individual locks and door latches for all the available rooms but its being 3 months of their false promises we are still waiting for their positive response.
3. No proper electric equipments: There are 8 rooms with 20 beds and 8 Air conditioner equipment with 2 phase electric line (if I’m not wrong commercial usage should have 3 phase registry). If the apartment is not registered for commercial purpose even though for air conditioner equipments it is mandatory to have 3 phase for safety purpose.
Considering all the constraints Metro Inn have, they attached 5 Ampere MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breaker) which gets trip repeatedly within 2-3 minutes when AC in all the rooms are in active state. On this, when complaint was logged, Metro Inn manager (Thomas) came and made the connection direct. This caused short circuiting and electric line caught fire couple of times due to due to overload. Rather than looking into the issues, Metro Inn responded stating that “they are not at all responsible for any short circuiting, its the issue of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB). Still no permanent action has been taken. Everytime their electrician comes and patches the issue without proper fixture.
4. No proper water supply: The second biggest problem we have is water supply. For 20 occupants Metro Inn has deployed only 2 300 liters of overhead water tanks. When we requested for another overhead tank, the director of Metro Inn services Mr. Sengol Dass spoke very rudely and dropped the call bluntly.
Recently Mr. Raja from Metro Inn management department visited the apartment and had a long conversation to fix the issues within next couple of weeks. However all the management talks were as expected- “with no resolution”.
Customer support representative Mr. Saravanan always assures that he will be available whenever there is any problem. But we never saw him to be with us when we face issues (short-circuiting, power outage, water shortage, etc). However we see Mr. Saravanan calling us every 1st or 2nd day of the month and visits our apartment without any failure to take monthly rent.
We are ready to pay for all the services we use, but there should be proper services availability with respect to the excitement of collecting money within 1st week of a month.
Last month we have logged a police complaint on Metro Inn services but Metro Inn obfuscated the complaint stating mutual cooperation and apologized Police saying- the issue will be resolved internally. Later on the guy who logged Police complaint has been chucked out from our apartment (even when he was correct and was raising correct points). The point is, after having so many issues and external complaints also we cannot see any improvement in any issues and its proper fixture. Metro Inn is providing service just for a sake of performing an action. We hope Consumer court will look into our issue and we all occupants are looking forward for your assistance and positive response. Kindly let us know if you need any further information.
