Wondering if others have faced this as well? A couple of months back, booked a Meru cab on their website to travel from Lavelle Road to Bannerghatta Road at 8 pm. Cab didnt turn up, called the call center and they said they’ll arrange an alternate one. Alternate guy lands up and I travel in the cab. On alighting I find the bill has a convenience charge added. Called up the call center and they say you have to pay the charge even if the original booking was on the web, since that cab didnt land up and the call center arranged the alternate. Later complained to Meru and got a tongue in cheek reply that we will discipline the original driver for not turning up but the convenience charge you paid was valid.
Today morning same thing again. This time, while a Rs.100/- off coupon was applied to the original booking on the web, it has vanished in the alternate they arranged because the earlier guy didnt land up. At the end of the ride, driver asks for that Rs.100 extra even though I’d confirmed with the call center time and again before the ride that the coupon is applied. The original cab not landing up and the alternate arrangement overcharging the customer seems to be a regular scam at Meru in Bangalore. Anyone else faced this yet??
