Lost my mobile number when I tried to change my prepaid connection to Postpaid

I “unfortunately” raised a request to convert my current prepaid number to a postpaid number on September 29, 2015. I received a reference number as well 65288786. I was provided a new sim and was told that once I get the confirmation, I need to put the new sim and call up 59059.

Later, One of your executives came twice to verify my details. On second time, he himself said, “Ma’am I know I came here last week, but still they wanted me to come again”. Fair enough, I won’t complain. You can verify as many times as you can. After all, its a matter of national security.

Now, I received a message that the address verification is completed and my number is going to be ported. As promised by you guys, my prepaid number got deactivated, at 4pm in the evening on Oct 7, 2015. After 4 hours, I tried the new sim, and it was not working. I thought it will be active after some time.

Oct 8, morning I went to a Airtel showroom in Banaswadi, and they mentioned that the new sim is not even registered to this number. They asked me to go back to the dealer. I went back, and he gave me a new sim, but mentioned that he is helpless in doing anything. Dealer asked me to call up the customer care. Your so called “Platinum” customer care guys, whom I called from another number,
asked me to either go back to the dealer or contact your nodal authority.

So now after more than 5 days, I am left with 3 sim cards, none of which works, and if someone tries calling my number, it says the number does not exist. Just because of this single issue, I am unable contact any of my near or dear ones, or to do any bank transactions or booking cabs or services or any other transactions.

If you want you can refer to the complaints |BAL|Ref21185677| or 1878133134.

I tried all your means
1) Called 121
2) Mailed to 121@airtelin
3) Mailed to [email protected]
4) Mailed to [email protected]
5) Contacted 3 Airtel Dealers

I need this mobile number for all kind of my day to day transactions. Just because I asked for the postpaid service from Airtel on 29th Sept and now I lost my mobile number. Is this the service Airtel offers to the customer?
