On 20.09.2014 Rs.14761/ – (Fourteen Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty one ) has been deducted from the account of ALAPAN without any prior intimation.
We have met the Bank Manager of SBI Chaitanyapur Branch on 10 & 14 of October, 2014 and asked clarification about it. He told according to the instruction of RBI no Non Governmental Organization has right to have savings a/c and they also should not have the right to get any interest. But he did not show any proof or document regarding this matter.
Now our questions are :-
1. If so, why other banks have not deducted interest from other NGOs? Why only will we be the sufferer?
2. As common people we can say -If there is any such type of order, it should be affected only after its notification. It might be affected from now. But how can it be affected without any type of intimation since its inception?
3. If there is such type of existing order – why SBI, Chaitanyapur branch gave us permission to open such savings account then?
4. What would be happened to those organizations who already closed their accounts?
5. Why SBI Chaitanyapur has deducted more interest than they paid us?
6. Why would we be insulted as we already issued a cheque on 14.10.2014 to Dilip Maity amounting to Rs. 225000/-(which is not presently in our account)
7. In this circumstance – should we not get back our interest amounting to Rs14761/-?
At last it’s our earnest request as we are a very small self financed voluntary organization working for the downtrodden and poor people in rural area, to arrange to get back our deducted interest amounting to Rs14761/-.
