Incorrect bill generation due to discrepancy in plan between myservices site and the actual bill.

Hi,

I am Ankit Jain residing in Pune. I was using Reliance Netconnect+ datacard service from around mid of 2010. My datacard no. is 9370228723 and relationship no. is 500001389567. From more than 2 years I was paying my bill before the billing date. In last may I got a mail from reliance that my datacard usage has been exceeded and a bill of around 3431.12 has been generated. They mentioned that my data usage has been exceeded by 5GB in night due to which they have put the extra charges for those 5GB apart from my monthly rental.

I was constantly getting messages from reliance regarding this. To confirm my usage I checked the myservices site which I was using from last 2 yrs to pay my bills and checking other details related to my datacard.

From there I figured out that my usage has not been exceeded as per the plan mentioned on the myservices site.

The plan mentioned on the myservices site was 3GB day and 10 GB night. So my night usage was in control as per my plan. I then called to reliance about this and even send mails to netconnect.broadband mail ids as well mentioning that my usage has not been exceeded what is mentioned in the plan. I have also send them the screenshot of the myservices site where that plan of 3GB day and 10GB night has been mentioned.

They replied back to me saying my actual plan is 5GB day and 5 GB night which is actually been mentioned in the bill but not on the myservices site so according to that I have used extra 5GB in night so that’s why they put additional charges for those 5GB.

I told them that this is the discrepancy that I am not aware of so they should not charge me according to the plan they are mentioning. Its there mistake that they have not provided the correct information to the customer through myservices site on which I was relying from last 2 years.

After I raised this point they raised a ticket to update the plan on myservices site and the new plan has been updated to the myservices site withing two days..

But they are still not considering this as a mistake from their side and asking me to pay the bill as soon as possible. I have almost attended more than 50 calls from reliance customer care regarding payment of bill and I have explained each one of them about this issue but none of them has the courtesy to call me back on this issue.

I got couple of replies from the netconnect.broadband mail id as well saying that they have checked my billing plan in their records and the plan is correct i.e 5GB day and 5GB night only and I have been charged correctly as per this plan.

No one is ready to talk on who is responsible to display the wrong plan on myservices site due to which I have made the usage upto that plan mentioned on the site.

I told them that its because of there discrepancy in the plans that they have displayed I have used the data accordingly. So due to their mistake I am not liable to pay the extra amount that they are asking for. I also told them that if they waive off these extra charges which is totally their mistake I am ready to pay the rest of the monthly bill amount but unfortunately no one is ready to listen. At the end I told them that unless they will not regenerate my bill with correct amount I am not going to pay a single penny to them.

Now they have send me a couple of messages that my bill payment time has been exceeded after repetitive reminders so they put a legal case against me in the court and I have to present in the court next month for this.

Hence, I request someone to look into this issue and resolve this asap..

    The issue is still pending. I have not received any call from reliance regarding this after I posted this issue.
    I got a call from consumerforums.in to whom I have provided the necessary details. Apart from that there is no communication done from reliance side..
