This complaint is regarding negligence shown by ICICI Bank customer care department (Credit Card).I hold a Coral credit card of ICICI bank. On 7 June 2013 evening I notice that my credit card was missing. Immediately I called ICICI bank customer care to block my Credit card. I followed the IVR instructions and was directed by their system to the concerned department. The call was answered by “Indumathi Lokineddy’. In the beginning of the call I clearly mentioned that ” I hold a coral credit card of ICICI bank and my card is lost. I want bank to block my credit card.” After that Indumathi asked me some verification details which were provided by me. After that she blocked my card. After the process was completed she mentioned that she has successfully blocked my “DEBIT CARD”. I was totally confused because I wanted to get my “CREDIT CARD” blocked but she blocked my “DEBIT CARD” instead.
Knowing this, I immediately asked her to unblock it but she said that it can’t be done. I asked her to transfer my call to her supervisor/manager but she just disconnected the call without listening to my concern and helping me.
After this incident I have been consistently facing both physical and mental harassment. I am sharing one of the incident that traumatized me most.
In the evening I was going for one of my business meetings and I noticed that my car needs to be refueled. l am not in a habit to carry much cash which I already consumed as earlier part of the day. At that time in the night was middle of the city without any cash in my wallet, no credit card with my car which had no fuel. Struggling with this situation suddenly I noticed that I am already late for my business meeting. This was a crucial meeting for my business growth which I failed to attend, which has a real bad impact on my business and even worse impression on my clients.
I would like to bring this matter to your notice and I would like a definite action against the institution so that this rude and unprofessional behavior of the bank should not create more suffering for others.
