I ordered a Apple MacBook Air laptop through Amazon India app on 14th August under their Amazon Prime scheme, which guaranteed delivery in two days by their courier service, Amazon Transportation Services. The laptop was suppose to be delivered by 16th August, 8:00 pm as per the order status. I received messages and emails from Amazon since 16th August morning saying that the order is ‘out for delivery’ and will be delivered by end of the day. I specifically stayed back at my place to receive the order. Since no one contacted me till evening 6:00 pm, I decided to give a call on the number I had received in the messages. This number is suppose to be the number of the delivery person from Amazon Transportation Services. But this number remained switched off. After a while I got a message on my phone saying that the customer could not be delivered as customer was not available. I received another order from Amazon by a different delivery person on the same day around the same time. Then how are they claiming that I was not available? They are simply covering up for their shortcomings and harassing the customer for no fault of the customer. I made myself available only to receive this order. I immediately wrote to their customer care regarding the issue and they only assured me to deliver it the next day. What if I’m stuck in work and there is no one around to collect the package. Who is to be blamed then? If an internationally renowned e-commerce website is not able to keep up to their own word then how is the customer to be blamed. The delivery is also suppose to be carried out by their own courier service.
I paid a huge sum of money to them trusting them that they’ll deliver on time. This is certainly not acceptable.
I request that a complaint should be register and strict action be taken against the website.
Thanks
