We have a Complaint for Furniture Purchased from Godrej from the Andheri West Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co,Ltd @ Godrej Interio Store Shop No.5 Nr Blase Church.Mumbai 400058.
We had purchased 2 units – 3 door Wardrobe & Queen Bed in Nov 2012, which is Damaged within 1.5 years from the date of purchase.
Ashish the Sales guy who sold us the products mentioning it would last for more than 10 years with Antirust & Anti termite treatment done , so it won’t be affected by White ant , Borur or any such things. And it was a Wooden unit . We considered Godrej as a Good brand & trusting his words & the brand , purchased both these units worth Rs- 80,000/-. . Now when our Furniture & Interior guy, checked the Wardrobe , it is damaged with white powder on it seems like Borur insect which damages the wood.
1st thing there is not a single wooden ply used for these 2 units. Its MDF ply being used which would cost us only 20k not more & it was sold to us as a wooden unit for Rs/80,000.
2nd if Antirust & Anti termite treatment was done for these why would it get affected within a year…?
3rd Ashish had not mentioned its a MDF Ply unit . And we had raised it to Ashish before he told us its due to Moisture & we kept cleaning it with a dry cloth.
4th we raised a ticket on customer care where i had specifically mentioned for sending a guy for treatment .still they send a guy who just took 2-3 photo’s of the unit & asking us for 250rs for visit not sure what charges these are when the guy doesn’t know why the unit is damaged saying you can clean it , its just moisture. he didn’t even submit our complain.
It’s a month now yet no action has being taken from Godrej.
We had a very bad experience dealing with Godrej & don’t have trust in any of the Godrej Products . We would like to spread across this to everyone so people are aware, before they purchase anything form Godrej.
We would not purchase any product from Godrej going forward & would not want my friends , colleagues, relatives to purchase either..
