Dear Madam/Sir

I had to purchase medicines for dog-bite last night and the doctor at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital prescribed Cefu by Jantec Pharma. The chemist at Gate 6 of the hospital gave a strip of 10 tablets at Rs. 630. The original pricing upon the strip has been blotted by a marker and there is a price-sticker pasted by the chemist.

Now, we called Jantec Pharma and they said that their Cefu Tablets are Rs. 47 per tablet. That makes a strip of 10 tablets to be of Rs. 470.

I was the 50th ot 60th patient of dog-bite yesterday and I am pretty sure that the doctor prescribed the same tablets to all. Can you see the profit-margin of that chemist? On every sale of Cefu, he is making a profit of Rs. 160. That is an approximate profit of about Rs.10,000 in a day only from one medicine. There must be other medicines he will be selling at false rates.

I don’t know why I have written this. I don’t really think that you are going to do anything about it. However, hope dies hard. I just trust my government.
