feak notes from atm counter.

i have received one fake note rs 500, from uco bank santoshpur branch.and when i went to deposit the amount to hdfc bank they told me the note has been feak.if the fake notes had been kept in atm counter why the coustomer will be losed that .please in any way some arrangement should made that which i could it back and why they are conform without any instrument.please solve my problem.
