Faulty Bajaj Pulsar 200NS

200NS is a 3rd class bike n there dealer are to cheap n fraud. satarday i booked a new Pulsar 200ns and i recived a Pulsar 200ns on monday evening when i take a test drive gear box is damage from inside due to which the gear is not shifting properly. after complaning to the dealer they replace with a new bike yesterday(11 July, 2012) i recived a bike now there is a new problem in that with in 2km engine start heating with a burning smell. such a bad experience with pulsar. Friendz please dont buy Pulsar 200NS.

My 200 ns clutch is too hard to shift gears. Handle is heavy with accelerator too, My key ignition was cracked when i got my bike, and rear disc make sum squeaking noise. Bajaj must improve material quality atleast on their top end models.

Hey mate my name is Kunal Shah, my pulsar ns is 8 days old n I was falling in love with my bike until today.. While returning back home all of a sudden the hears stopped getting shifted..I had to ride back to home coz it was 9 in the night n service centres were open, I even cannot go to private service centres because then I won’t be a..ble.. to claim warranty..I am in a big trauma as of now but 1 thing is for sure I am gonna claim a replacement of the bike if they are gonna open the gear box or engine or anything for that matter.. Totally depressed.. First of all shocked to see Der are quite a few people complaining about faults in this bike n now I am shocked to write 1 in this forum..freak man feeling sick!!

i had the same problem with the 200 ns. it is locked in 3rd gear and it wont shift up or down. the bike is 3 days old and i would like to know if i can get a replacement for it. has anyone else got a replacement or did they just fix the problem and return it.?

Hi Guys,
I have received my 200NS in the month of June and I rode it through out Mumbai monsoon with out a single issue. There are many people like me who are very satisfied with this bike, similarly, there are many others who felt cheated of being given faulty bike. I have come across dealers providing test rides on bikes to be delivered to customers. If you feel, you may investigate the time gap between Bajaj handing over your bike to dealer and when did you received the delivery of the bike. If there is a considerable time gap, then probably, you have a good reason as to why your bike is not doing good as it may have gone through test rides at dealership.
For the new owners who are yet to take delivery, please take a look at the tyre of the bike, tyres must be free from dents and embedded granules that happens when you take the bike for a spin on the road for a considerable time.
For those, who have already possessed the bike for a long time now, they can write to customer care of Bajaj (email is present on website) and then keep escalating to next level every time the issue is not resolved at a given level. I followed the same strategy every time and it works every time.

Its good if you got a good bike, but this forum is for looking solutions in the best way, adding to my pulsar 200 ns issue on 1485 km my radiator cracked and coolant leaked overheating the bike, Luckily this time the fatima nagar showrroom to things seriously and helped me in the best possible way, they replaced the radiator and called bajaj engineers from chakan plant to inspect the issues completely. I got a bike free serviced and i previous issues i previously wrote bout were done to my satisfaction. I think every showroom shud help this way but why do they wait till things get to worse.

Hi everybody,

I am Prasenjit from Bangalore. I am also facing several issues with my 200 NS. Like false gear shift, bike does not come to neutral, some noise coming out of the rear disk brake/bearings while the bike is in motion. Getting on 30KM/PL. The engine does not start and if it starts then it keeps stopping randomly until the engine becomes hot enough after at-least 1KM of ride. It has not yet been 20 days and only 500KMS and Popular Pulsar people has asked to give it for a service as when I did inform them about all this issues, they asked that they can only look into this issues during the first servicing. When I bought the bike, they did not put any coolant in the liquid cooling kit causing the engine to overheat. Today, they have made a hefty bill for the first free service and has asked me to collect the bike. I will see if the issues are resolved or not. It seems that their strategy is to sip out as much money as possible.

Hi folks, I had mentioned earlier(august) about the problem regarding gear not getting not getting shifted to any other gear than 1st gear.. the problem get sorted much earlier infact the next immediate day..
well the problem was with the cable horde n what the service guys explained was that it wasn’t tightened properly at the time of assembling, as it was a new bike they thought of tightening up so hard n so they left it a little loose n due to that it loosened up totally.. I was strict on not allowing them to do anything with the gear or opening of any parts n they agreed n said me that it was not anything major.. it took them 20mins to fix it up.. n since then bike has just not given me any sort of issues.. I am getting an average of 30 in city done with 1k kms a week ago..

If you are looking for commuter go for Pulsar 220 or Yamaha FZ etc. But if you want a good sports bike at less price go for pulsar 200 ns. There are issue with the bike it seems (may be since our Indian assembly lines are not very good).

AS Kunal Shah said those issues could be resolved with ease. 200 Ns is sports bike, it will for sure require higher maintenance.

Hi friends ivnt got any pulsar but im currently working on 200ns pul i never feel that its 3rd class bike i accept there are problems but they are not that much critical to resolve & to open ENGINE assly.
There is no vibrating noise in it upto speed end limits.
the squicking noise of brake is due to wet dust on brake pads u have to take care of it.
dont just drive it u must take care of ur ns

i got 200 ns some 2 weeks ago. after starting the bike when i accelerate slowly the engine kills off.this is my first bike so i dont if its a problem or not. any suggestion? also neutral indicator does not light up sometimes while changing gear? my rear break too makes some noise.

one thing pulsar 200 ns is a delicate bike..so ride at a speed of 30 to 40 after ur 1st service ride it on 55….it will give u good mileage….i fill Rs700 d bike tank gets full

hai guys,,i read all ur reviews and complaints clamed by u…some said the bike gets head when its new..on this i can say that the bike got radiator in addtion..so the bike smell bad in its new ..because yhe cell and water in that gets heat to one extent in thjat mean time the bike smells …so dont worry abt that…and next on some guys said the bike rear disk break is making some noise..for this..just clean up the disk pads..and spray disk cleaner very frequently..so that the pads gets cleaned up automatically..

I’ve only ridden my newly bought 200ns 30km & the only little problem I’ve detected is the gears being stuck.. they really do get stuck at times. but that’s about it.
The bike has tremendous acceleration & I find it very hard to keep it below 50kph cause it feels sooooo ride it fast. But still I’m not gonna go fast on it until i hit 500-1000km hopefully.
Just a little message to others.. try & shift your gears nicely & keep it below 4-5k rpm.. & you won’t have any sort of vibrations. Ride it hard over that rpm & vibrations are part of your ride then.

Hi,
I bought the newly launched Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS at Kovai Ramanathapuram Sungam Sri Autos.

In just two days after taking delivery of the bike,Crank shaft sound was coming from the engine.

When I approached the showroom regarding this problem they told me that this is just normal sound which will come on all Pulsar 200 NS vehicles and asked me to come after registering the bike.

I again approched them after registering and they weren’t able to fix the problem. Till now they haven’t solved the problem.

When I asked again and again they are telling that this sound will come on all Pulsar 200 NS. I asked them then*whether this model was a failure and for that they didn’t had any answer.

So when buying Bajaj Two wheelers you go along with a your known mechanic and buy the vehicle. Then only we will get proper value for our money.

Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS don’t have centre stand I had spent Rs.520/- to buy a centre stand and fixed.

So it is advised to be exteremly careful when buying Bajaj two wheeler Vehicles
I think this vehicle failed products.

my first issue was leakage of coolant- was resolved
secound one starting trouble in the morning -was resolved
now i am facing a unique kind of issue
while driving able to hear some sort of sound ( like u place a screw in fibre body shake it slowly)

Guys.. I am hearing frequently from the Service Centre guys that 200 ns is not worth buying. currently i own an Avenger 220 2012 january model and im gng to buy pulsar 200 ns this diwali. i m a bajaj fan and i had bought 3 previous bajaj models Discover 125(2005), pulsar 220f (2011), avenger (2012)… but, im getting confused. pls help me out in this topic. the problems regarding the bike i heard till date are-

1. Carbuerator problem
2. high oil pressure problem
3. oil seal leakage
4. Gear shifting problem
5. Engine over heating problem
6. Radiator not functioning properly
7. Rear gear unusual sound
8. bad milaege

Hii..evryone today on 31/10/12 got my new Pulsar 200NS as was very excited abt it..before this had Pulsar 150 which was gvng me consistent mileage of 45kmpl..reason as y had to go for new..is it got stolen..well before buying did some R&D and this bike was close to Duke..and also value for money..so tuk a test drive and the power and response was gud thts y booked it..
Now after taking the delivery and returning to home as it was raining.. the bike engine started to shutdown at regular intervals..firstly thought tht it might be cold start as the weather was cold due to rain..and this continued..and after 4-5 such stops the choke also didnt start to work..my journey to home was 80% pushing the vehicle..as the vehicle wud start go few meters and then stop and then starts after 10mins..people were like mocking as new bike frm delivery and pushing on road..it was such a disappointment..at a point in an road intersection the engine shutdown and didnt start, the policeman thr helped me push the vehicle aside as it caused traffic jam..so hopeless situation..
Dont know wat the problem is..is it the engine or the cold start..literally had to push my new vehicle drenching in rain to home as it didnt start at all when reached 1/2 km away frm home..
Is it the same case of faulty engine..wat to do..please tell

Harish, I think the showroom from where u bought the bike had not given u any petrol in the bike. And when the petrol in the fuel lines got empty, the engine shut down and the problem persists.. I dont think its an engine problem at all…

hello Friends,
new bike may show such simple problems at beginning. Make sure your service center guys are good enough. Gear shifting should be perfect , else it may get stuck. get used to your bike , acquaint with it, love it . take care of it. after about 1500 km run bike will start love you back. Enjoy riding.

my pulsar 200ns has got a little problem.
the rear disc is making a squeaking noise. i had got a service from bagga link, karol bagh,new delhi. when i told them about the noise, the mechanic just took out the brake shoes and rubbed them a little against a sand paper in order to get them in level. it didn’t make sound for a day, but then the problem persisted again and its making even a greater noise.
please help me out, and suggest me to resolve the problem.

my pulsar 200 ns had some problems initially like the bike ws stuck on 3rd gear and i took it to the showroom on 3rd itself. but then a month later another problem started.
after riding it for around 30 mins the bike suddenly felt like there was no petrol in the engine and would jerk and finally stall. when i took it to the showroom they said there was water in the carburetor and drained it. since then its been 40 days and the bike is running fine.

My 200NS too has Engine Overheating Issue and causes a Lot of vibration. The rear mono Shock-ups are too hard .. Its been 3 months now.. Though the Bike feels awesome n stable even at high speeds like 125+ overall experience with bike is still good.

i bought NS 2 months ago..and at beginig engine oil was leaking thoughroly (almost 15-20 drops a day), at first service technician said that oil filter got to be replaced ..that cost me about 250/- after that there is no problem in it….all in all its a true performer!! i like my bike very much:-)

my pulsar ns200 is 1 month old
first of all… I m fully satisfied with bike
I hv tested it in all ways
its a gud off road on road bike
its powerful
mileage is gud around 40+ km in local (on 30-40 km speed)
n 45+ on high way ( on 60-70 km speed)
top speed which I hv tested is 127 km
gears work properly… press full clutch while changing gears
gud balancing on road n feel like heavy n powerful supar bike
gud balancing in local rush also
look is attractive quite different from others… silencer concept is very gud
watch the water test on you tube u’ll feel proud
yes there may be some sound in disk break but oil cleaner can solve this prob
I hv also notice the heating smell but I guess its normal n may be its for some time…
breaks are gud…

i bought some 3 months ago. today(25.11.12) odo reading is 2050km.
the problems are (1)accelater wire cut.i replace new wire

(2)petrol is dont go to the engine its blocked in petrol tank.tank fill with dust,i cleard them,

gear shifting is very well
its no make sound in rear&front disk.

Hi guys,
There was some issue of bike stopping after 10-15 mins…and has to wait for hours to get it started.My pulsar 200 ns had the same problem…I felt let down by pulsar…after constant visits to bajaj showroom,they Identified the problem….
Problem was air pipe,which mixes the fuel with air was blocked by engine during shipping.
Once it was taken care of,there was no more problem,,,,loving the bike,,,,but still this bike need serious knowledge about bikes. 🙂

hey guys….. as i earlier shared my problem with u…..the problem still persists…even though i got my rear disc plate replaced on warranty from bagga link,link road,delhi…. in the begining the bike was fine but after 2 days the squeaking noise has again started to come…. i think that i have figured out the problem, but i need ur help to ensure it… i think that the alignment of the tires of my bike is not right, because whenever i leave the handle of my bike while riding, the bike rather than being stable in the center and moving straight ,starts moving to the left,,,,,,,,
please help me out…. next time u ride ur ns please try to leave ur handle for a while and check if the bike goes on straight…… and please let me know……

Hi Daksh,

I have even faced the same problem what you are getting (noise from the rear break). I even met the Top shot guys of Bajaj (Rahul Manchanda) at Bagga link but at this moment they also have no clue about the problem. Only response i got from him..is we have got similar case from other location we have informed our factory & they are doing some modification in internal design of the rear brake. Next time when you go to bagga link…better you meet….Mr. S.V. Subramanyan or ask them to make your meeting with Mr. Rahul Manchanda.

Hey guys,bought my 200 ns on sept 8th…clocked 2800 kms..only in the city…the sound from the bike is due to the assembly of the vicer..as it is 4 parts rather than the usual 3 parts..70 percent of 200 ns has dis problem…i clarified with the 200ns expert service men,
then i am facing a problem from beginning as my oil level indicator keeps showin most of the time…even aft service n all…first they said it was not a big isuue but being concerned i have given it for repair …free of cost ofcourse….also yes i recently have started gettin the burnt smell…3 days bak…could be the calibrater heating up ..or the radiator as some hv mentioned…so iv given it to pulsar servic centre khivraj motore,indranagar …hopefully i get it bak today…also the person there adviced me to change a small part of the gear which mite b causing the oil pressure indicator..accordin to him….so guys.yes it has sm issues since it is the first batch of 200 ns that we all have..but i hv not faced any major problems where in i couldnt use the bik or it stopeed…the bike runs smooth and im gettin constant milleage of 38 to 40 in city even witht the oil indication issue….hopfully it gets solved after this repair..n i will update the progress…even 220 had issues with gearbox..so not a new thing…i havnt faced any such problms with the gearbox…

thank you for ur reply.
I had talked to Mr.Subramaniam (G.M) at Bagga Link, and they told me the same thing that there is a similar case ,but they told me that the other bike got fixed when they had increased the play of the brake & may be they even made a cut in the rear brake pads.
I was really frustrated as i had to go to bagga link almost every 2nd day, and i had visited there about 19 times, my case was very strong and yesterday i had received my bike from them and they have changed everything related to the rear part of the bike( wheel,disc plate, braking system,etc.). I will inform you if that noise comes again, but as for now i have ridden it around 70km but that same noise is not there.
But there is some other noise (a high frequency noise), but this sound comes when the bike is at high speeds.

Hi all, Is there any one there who is facing issue where bike engines turns off automatically at times when taken out for a ride. Please lemme know as this issue when handed over to bajaj service nearly 4 times they were not able to sort it out.

SAME HERE I BOUGHT 200 NS ON 25 OF SEPTEMBER AND I HAD THE BIKE 1sT SERVICE ON 700 KMS. AND THEY SAID ME THAT YOUR NEXT SERVICE IS AFTER 5000 KMS. I HAD RODE THE BIKE UPTO 4600 KMS IN 3 MONTHS AND AFTER 4600 KMS AND 3 MONTH ONLY THE ENGINE OF MY NEW BIKE IS SIEZED AND THE PISTON INSIDE OF IT IS BROKEN. I WENT TO THE SERVICE CENTRE I TOLD MY PROBLEM AND INSTED OF LISTENING THAT THEY SAID THAT I MUST HAVE RODE THE BIKE AROUND 80 TO 100 KMS/HR AND THAT IS THE REASON MY ENGINE SIEZED UP. WTF………… I AM RIDING A PULSUR 200 NOT BAJAJ PLATINA. ACCORDING TO THEM WE SHOULD HAVE TO RODE THE BIKE ON 35 KM/HR THEN IT SHOULD BE OK. SO INSTED OF SELLING 200 CC BIKES THEY SHOUL SELL YO BIKES……….

my pulsar 200 NS is perfectly built, it’s giving me the confidence n mileage in the worse roads of kerala, am doing its services properly, now he is 5044 km old… no issues with gear shifting, I am riding comfortably my 200… I think you guys have got the damaged bikes unfortunately

Hi Friends,,,,

I got my Pulsar 200ns, 07 November 2012,And it’s been 3 Months, and It Crossed 3000Km, till date, Before Buying I was Confused a lot between Honda Unicorn For better Mileage and Good Engine, And Pulsar 150, But Finally got Pulsar 200ns,,,After lot of research/Google,,,Like to mention Some good/bad and Do’s & Dont, the Look is very much nice, and you can feel the power on Highway, or even on local road’s, definately people will give a stare on ur bike, the Pulsar 200ns will give Better Milage If you will drive not more then 65km/h,,,,I have Filled my tank for Rs 500 after it has gone on reserved, And i drove around 60Km/per day for 5 days,but for 5 days i havent gone on reserved, u have to gear at proper RPM, and maintain the speed according to gears, If u drive too Fast in less gear or vice versa, engine will produce a bad sound, not good for engine, Yes some time gear get stuck, and miss-shift also happens sometime, If you are going to Buy Pulsar 200Ns, for local use/roads, then go for other bike, as on local/traffic road, Bike Get’s Heated up soon as by riding it on less gear for more time, as Pulsar 200ns is built for Highways, SoME Quuiiiickkkkk, quiiiikkkkk LIKE sound u will get from Front Brake, and When you make a piller Rider seat, the sound Get’s Gets Little Louder, In morning, two Times I got this Problem With Starting Issue, It was not getting started for around 5 mins, Minus Point it Dont have Kick Start, You Might Feel, when Bike wont get Start in morning with self start, You Cant Do anything just have to speak to Service center regarding this, Dont Give your Bike to Any1, Until Unless you are accompanying with ur bike,,,As they might Use it rough,,Mileage is good, In start u feel the headlight is quite much Stronger and Brighter, and after some months u might feel it got less stronger, might be due to battery Issue, Till No Not Much Big Issue, On Highway I drived it till speed 112Km/h, as we all know Mumbai Highways are also not much good for driving condtion, Even at this speed bike dont get Vibrant OR shakky, if ur quite Healthy,,,,After around 75km/h, U will Feel it takes more time to reach at higher speed, but when it goes, it just goes,,,zmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,,,,,,If u are looking for mileage and you can control your speed not more then 60-65km/h you can easily get more then 48km/l,,,,Acceleration is very much good, Looks, Speed Rocks,,,,So I hope and wish to take my Pulsar 200Ns, For as long as possible in coming years,,,,Even If’t 200CC Engine,,,Dont Drive Too Much Hard, Drive Safely and Enjoy the Ride, Have Fun and Be Proud Owner Of Pulsar 200NS,,,:-)

Dear All,
There might have been some issues with the first few batches of bikes that rolled out of the Chakan Plant.
I got my 200NS on 22nd November 2012 and I just have one word to say about the bike: ‘WOW’
First of all, when you buy a new bike, go through it’s User Manual completely before riding it(after u take it home from the showroom that is).
Here are some tips to run-in the engine properly:
1. Never rev the bike past 5K rpm for the first 1000 kms at least.
2. Keep varying the speed. Do not ride in constant speeds for long periods of time.
3. Treat your bike like a baby. Do not shift gears harshly.
4. Make sure periodically that the bike is well-lubricated wherever it matters.
5. Before taking delivery of the bike, make sure that the coolant liquid, engine oil and brake oils are at optimum levels.
6. Get the engine oil changed before you hit 500 kms. Make sure you get a replacement of mineral oil and not synthetic oil in the first service. Mineral oil ensures proper runnin-in of your engine. You can opt for the smoother synthetic oil after you engine has settled.
7. Keep the bike as clean as possible(you are not the only one who’s allergic to dust).
8. Do not involve in any kind of road-rage with the bike. The wheelies and stoppies can wait till the bike gets a bit older. You never play leather-ball cricket with a 4-year old, do you?
9. Regularly clean the exposed parts of the chain and the chain sprocket and lubricate it. You get many good cleaning+lubricating sprays in bike accessory stores. Costs you around 60-80 bucks and last for 5-6 months if you use them every 500 kms which is more than sufficient for the NS.

My NS returned mileage figures of around 47-50 before the first service when my riding style was absolutely saint-like. I persevered until my bike had clocked 1200kms before going really hard on the accelerator(i’d suggest you wait till at least 1500 mark). Now my bike is 2.5 months old, has clocked around 2500kms and is a beautiful performer. I regularly hit 135km/h on the highway (the baby reached 142 km/h a couple of times) and ride sanely in city limits and my bike still returns 42-43 km/l <3 <3.
So the bottomline is: The Pulsar 200NS is a VERY friendly bike irrespective of whether you are a mature commuter or a race-enthusiast. It's a lot of bike for it's premium of around 1 lakh rupees. Have Fun and Ride Safe

200ns is a reliable bike, but you should take extra care of it. Its cheap but it has a radiator and there is no fairing on the bike to protect exposed engine parts. If you are going to use this bike like you use splendor or regular comuter you are going to face some issue.

This is a performance bike and you need to be punctual at maintenance. Guys just check the ppl who own a CBR and R15 they also have to maintain it, the main culprit is our indian roads which are fill of potholes and mud. Keep the bike engine clean by removing dirt on it and dont get your engine strucked by a pothole you would do fine.

I own this bike from 2.5 month getting a mileage of 37kmpl and wow 125 kmph!! from sloppy rider like me. Thats something superb. The bike is really confidence inspiring.

Hello People,

I bought my bike on 30th sep 2012. Initially all was good but after a couple of weeks i started having issues with shifting down gear as it was not smooth anymore. When i spoke to Service center mechanic , he simply told me that Gear box takes 10,000 Km ride to become smooth. I mailed customerservice regarding this , they responded saying that they are looking into this issue but have stopped responding to subsequent emails. I took my vehicle for polishing today and they handed over the bike to me in 3 hours.As i crossed the main street, the brake pad broke as i applied brake,i took my vehicle back immediately and inquired about the mechanic who worked on my bike. Funny thing is they started cross questioning me if i had an accident. I was stunned beyond belief. When i spoke with the manager he told that brake pad does not come under warranty, although that is true but he was so rude and all this issues with a bike which is barely 6 months old. What is the point in paying a lakh. Dont know what to do and where to complain.

hello my self junaid from kashmir the bike is good for racing and stunts and it can beat any bike as i did i clocked it at 136kmph in only fourth gear and 141kmph in 6th gear and i beated the cbr 250 and r15 version 2.i faced two problems in the bike
1. some times when i used to accelerate the bike wile driving, it works just like breaking and the engine sound turns of and suddenly it is rising up and comes to the normal
2. when i used to leave the handle while driving it turns to wards left

Hi Guys,
I bought Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS just on 28th January 2013. But I am not satisfied with it. It gives starting problem, its RPM increases itself and the worst thing is that it gets stopped all of sudden while riding. It is very risky because the bike gets jammed and you cannot even shift it to a little inch. very embarassing!! I have shown to service people and they increased the RPM and for jamming, they say that it is due to air vaccum in the types. Just frustated! Anybody there to tell me the solution why it is so?

I got my bike in July 2012.inicially there was no problem,but after 1st service I started getting serious problems like the bike wont go above 75kms easily .It starts vibrating its like the whole bike is shaking.engine has become to noisy.I am very dissapointed.Please help

Hii guys,
My pulsar 200ns is 45 days old…I rode it with utmost care and got it serviced on time…When i bought the bike it had vibration problem which the service centre people could solve only after 3 visits…Now I am facing the problem of FAN CONTINUOUSLY RUNNING AND OVERHEATING ICON blinking as soon as i start my bike…
I don’t know whether they would be able to solve it or not because i have already visited them twice…I have an appointment for tomorrow as well..Lets see what happens..

my vehicle cross 15000 kms today…
the only prob that i am facing is its gear stuck after sudden breaking. i cant shift down gear from 6th to 1st in a single clutch. its gear liver will not come to actual position till i release clutch more than 60% on each down shifting of gear..
sometimes false neutral arises….
except these two prob i am very much satisfied with 200 nS…
I hav clocked 132 km/hr…
about 43 kmpl mileage in city ride and nearly 50kmpl on highways. in KERALA roads it is gud…
also i ride about a 260 km without stoping egine including a 40-50 km in high range…

I own a pulsar 200ns since 5 mnths….
I have done 4800kms on odo… 🙂
My top speed on this bike is 144km/hr.
No issues till date except bike tending left wen i leave handlebars completely.
I have ridden it 186 kms continously and no heating issues or engine stops whatsoever noticed 🙂

And 1 more thing guys…
Gear shift is smoother than r15 but clutch is a bit harder. (i also own a r15 v1)
Do press clutch lever completely and then shift gears; u’l hav no issues then 🙂

Dear all..

I have purchased my bike on 29.07.12. Within 10 months of time its battery starts giving problem. I have visited bagga link rithala. they kept my bike 3 days for charging battery. Finally they asked me to replace. my battery from exide. then I visited exide they also kept my battery for 2 days for recharging .finally they decide yo replace battery on 15.06.13 now’s today is 24 June but there’s is no battery with exide and even they are not committing me the date . I really fed up with exide.

Kindly note all 200 n’s users. The battery is big; prob in this bike . There is no battery in market and not with exide . If the battery problem comes after warranty period we will have to suffer a lot.

I bought P200ns two weeks back and I can hear some kind of squeezing noise from the back wheel. When checked with the showroom guys they told its due to some dust settled in the disc. Honestly when I got my bike after first service it has started making more noise. Can someone help me in this.

hi all,
i got this bike on feb 13. I had completed 1700 kms as on 2day. I ve done wit my 2nd service and all of a sudden I coolant temperature icon comes up and my radiator gets on even if the bike runs for 1 km. I am also hearing some kind of sound in my front tire. Please let me know if any one els had faced the same issue and had found a solution. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,
I am a pulsar 200 ns owner and has ridden it for more than 6100 kms… and had also taken it to a long ride of 1350 kms in uttrakhand.. where i tested this bike…. believe me guys this bike is the best bike in this range… there is not a single problem in it.. no vibrations on high speeds, no gear stucking problem as mentioned above by the ghost customers. 🙂 it handles best.. very good cornering.. stays on road.. never loose controls. u can never get tired if u r riding it on long tours.. mine is giving me an average of 30-35 km per litre..

Real problems with 200 ns are
1- rear seat is very hard. Can be improved by bajaj.
2- rear shockers are not adjustable.
3- eurogrip tyres.
These are all the major and minor problems with this bike.. so if u like to buy this bike.. go for it..

guys i hav pulsar 200 ns, it crossed 10500 km.at starting the engine voice was lil more but now no engine voice the bike is smooth .at starting it give me 25 to 30 mileage before 1st service.after 1st service it started giving 30 to 35 and at 3rd service it gives me finally 35 to 40 sometimes 45 and at highway 55 believe it.the only problem which i think the bike has which is gear shifting voice it is irritating. drive it long kph after it no problems u will face

Its been a year I got my bike rode it 13000 km. I have to give it for general service like lubricating and have changed the entire chain link. After the service I have issue with the rear disk I cant ride my bike the disk gets heated up and the disk locks cannot move my bike. For the first time im having such problems and its been 3 days I gave it for swrvice and they still dint figure out the problem . Can someone give me a solution for this please?

I bought it on October 2012. Its running very smoothly & I love this bike.
But nowadays bike has started giving some kind of problem. My bike automatically stops after running some distance and does not start before 20-25 mins.

Hi Meet!
I have to say that its a good bike that we all own, just a couple of tweeks.
I faced the exact same issue as you are, after I did my second free service.
But I’m pretty sure what’s causing it. Either the bike is overheating too much, and that’s one of the prime issue faced by couple of my friends too,
or
your petrol tank might have some water leaked in, which causes the bike to stop dead.
The solution to my problem was that the cooling fan was not working, got it replaced and also reduced the RPM a little. that did the job.

The sound with the rear tyre is really irritating. Its completely fine wen im riding above 20 kmph… But wen im riding slow, the bike makes a lot of noice. Its been just3 days since i got the bike. Feels really bad wen somethin as such happens to a brand new bike. I thought it might be the dust which is accumulated. So pressure washed the tyres and the disk but the sound still persists. Suggestions please.

This is my first comment on the Pulsar 200ns, which i bought the 1st person in chennai. Till now i have never met any problem with the bike. In simple the bike that we owned is the best to what we gave. All problem that occurs is only due to the first time fitting done by the agencies or the dealer. So ask them frequent question before taking your vechile delivery. when they fit the tank panel and other fittings. they used to remove and force to fit the other fittings its like when they fit the rear mud flap disc can be distrubed. So please check your vechile till your are satisfied.

Hello friends, I have a problem in my pulsar 200NS. The problem is that it makes annoying crackling sound continuously when it passes from jerking or bumps on the road.This sound also comes when i press the front break and try to push the handle forward in rest condition.It looks like the sound is either coming from beneath the oil tank or beneath the rider seat.Sometimes i feel like sound is coming from chassis.The sound disappears when i wash my bike and reappear as soon as the bike dried up. It also disappears when loosen the nut of “shaft-swing arm” (the nut and bolt which connects swing arm to chassis near the riders foot rest) but then rear wheel gets unbalanced. I got this problem near about completing 6000 km, now my odometer reading is 10000 km and problem still persists. I don’t know what to do because I have visited bajaj service center many times and they are unable to solve this puzzle.
It will be very helpful if someone can tell me how to fix this problem.

i have ns 200 in a yellow colour it is very nice compare to anyone. if somebody is think it is bad bike then i will say ,you don,t have any knowedge about bikes. so don’t abuse that bike.

Pulser 200ns is really a third class bike, milage giving only 24 in 80speed. Recomend to drive on 40speed. Better to purchase luna. We are stupid that purchased pulser. Better is bullet, may give 40 mileage but having prestige.

m using 200ns for last 2yrs. did not face significant problems. using ”motul”, for engine, fibration is very less even at very high speed; replaced stock plugs with ngk iridium plug. mileage in city about 40kmpl, checked several times.
amaresh i think u did not study science. if u ride with lower gear or high speed, it requires power. so power comes from where??? so it needs more fuel to achieve high speed. that’s why every manufacturer recommends to ride at 40-50kmph for optimal performance, which needs optimum fuel. u hv to keep in mind that it’s a sport, stunt & naked bike…
and of course all bajaj bikes needs frequent servicing for smooth and problem free ride.
i am very excited as an owner of 200NS.
now waiting for 200SS, hope it will be launched in oct/nov this yr….

I own a Pulsar 200ns, its been 6 months and wow i love the bike, Yes its not the smoothest engine, doesn’t have the best tires, but when you ride it, its just amazing power, even at 100 km/hr when u twist the throttle harder, u can feel the power pushing ahead. Its an amazing bike. I had no issues so far, even service was cheap. My second service just costed me RS 100. Bike is smoothest when you rip it (no kidding). Mileage easily above 40 (40-42 km/ltr).

@vishab go for fzs,i was planning for a pulsar myself i was almost going to book it when i asked for the feedback about that bike from people who owned it.the looks are god but the machine has numerous problems which include engine heating ,gearbox stiffness etc ..i now am a proud owner of r15 v2 …yamaha is miles ahead in everything no issues with the bike,helpful after sales services and the maintenance is quick too..although yamaha bikes are priced higher that everyone but they are worth it long term wise.my friend is using a fz since 2 years now and he has only good things to say about the bike..go for fz ..yes yamaha !

Its my sincere advise to all potential Bajaj customers, please stay away from any Bajaj product. Bajaj bikes are downright pathetic in terms of quality and refinement. There are manufacturing issues in many of Bajaj’s brand new bikes and if one values his/her hard earned money, the a Honda or a Hero suits best.

I purchased my Pulsar 200NS on 24-07-2013 and this 25-07-2014 completed 1 year but after 1 year my bike started giving me problem battery is not working when i showed this problem to Sairam Bajaj Dealer in vashi they told me your warranty card is expired for battery we cannot replace it with new.battery which you get with bike have 12 months of warranty and if you purchase battery exernally thein it gets 18 months or 36 months of warranty.

in this case 1 thing is clear parts which we get with bajaj products or bike are not genuine exact after 1 year it will start giving u problem.

i was big fan of pulsar 200ns but this incident disappointed me. 🙁

i bought it on 08.10.2014 topup the tank full. today 15.08.2014 my bike got reserve at 379km which is 9.6 litter on main 2.6 litter is reversed one ..which means 379/9.6=39.4 kmpl..i ride d bike really soft not above 5k rpm ..jst 3 or 4 times reached 5k in traffic..top speed 65 at 6th gear..not all d times jst 2 or 3 times only ..almost 90% of the 379 km ridden less than 55kmph ..i think the average is less than 48kmph ..the bike was always ideal 1to 2 min at every morning.at 1100 to 1400 rpm .smooth engine..gear box sounds a bit more ..need to a bit more hookup to up the gear from 1 to 2 to 3…till 6th. (it can b resolved ) getting to neutral is always pain till 200km..now its ok..but not d best thing.they delivery with MRF TYRE im happy nw buz i read bad reviews about euro grip . my number 9944005604

Hey guys
Heard a lot of u guys saying u have got tons of problems with ur P200ns. Yeah and it seems legit. Its maybe because those bikes did not go under proper testing from your dealers before delivering it to you. I have bought myself a 200ns one month back and have gone through first service and my odo is now clocked in at 1566kms. I must say I have not been a victim of any problems. The bike runs very smoothly except at 6000rpms it vibrates but its due to immense power delivered by the bike which is a thrill no offence. Duke 200 also has these vibrations but we dont notice em due to its raw power with a bad boy exhaust sound. Guys we know oru pulsar 200ns is indian made and our minds r always in a suspecting kind of way for problems because its indian made. Please dont think that way. The ns has very high build quality and its designed by an international designer for BMW bikes. Ns has a duke inspired engine which almost takes over duke in corners because of its handling. All u have to worry about is the rear tyre which is an eurogrip made and it doesnt respond well to the rear bybre disc brakes. Changing into mrf or more better ones will give u a better riding and braking performance..
So.. I must say our indian bike manufacturers bajaj has made a wonderful bike which is affordable to us and doesnt compensate to its quality. Kudos!

Bajaj taking Indians for granted with its performance oriented machines that severely lack refinement and quality. The NS isn’t selling much anymore, people prefer to pay a premium and buy a Japanese motorcycle than risk their investment on a quality compromised machine. Even the current crop of Pulsar 220’s are unrefined and have their own share of issues. Its better to invest on a CBR250R or the 2014 Hero Karizma than to waste hard-earned money on a Pulsar. The KTMs no doubt are good machines but they aren’t fit for Indian road and traffic conditions, sheer performance at the cost of excessive heating and a bone jarring ride quality is not acceptable to many.

My friends also purchase the same bike within 1 month and they don’t have any problem and when i told the problem to SVC guy they told me that these are due to dust on the disc plates. I think either they dont have mind or they think that we dont have if dust is causing this sound on rear brakes then why dust is not causing on from brakes. and why not on my friends they never had such problems and i have these problem within 24 hours of purchase
If there is a solution please tell if bajaj have the solution then i haven’t to suffer these problem within 24 hours of my Bike Purchase.

This is really shameful for bajaj that after so much complaints they are not finding any solution aside to these they are busy in making peoples fool
These problems makes me very disappointed and after purchasing this bike i am thinking that i have done a great mistake

There are numerous complaints regarding the disk brakes on the NS. The brakes are powerful for sure, but they also have a tendency to lock up under hard braking. Suggest all NS users to fit the SafeRide Mechanical ABS on both front and rear disk to attain uniform braking and reduce any chances of brakes locking up.

Abhi – Suggest you ride the bike for 1000 kms atleast and then check your brakes again for noise and heat. Most Bajaj disks operate freely post 1000 kms of use.

Hi guys im from cochin. My mob.no. 9947097944. I purchased a pulser 200ns before 8 month. After 2 week my bike’s front cone set were loose. Then they tigh it, and I also said him my bikes mono suspension is not good. Then he said me it will clear when the time of 1st servicing. Now I finishd 3 service. But these problums still now. When the 3rd sievicing I changed the clutch cable because of over tight. But now the cable is also tight. Now im going to 4th servicing. These all problems are still now. I don’t know what will I do…?

I own a pulsar200ns (2 year old).I have not faced any problem with the bike,it gives me 40kmpl in the city!!!
I have done many upgrades to it and still not facing any issues.added an racing cdiunit,ixill exhaust,iridium sparks plug,high tension cables,
And Use motul synthetic oil for the engine

I got my ns on 19/08/2012 , from that date I purchased I don’t faced any problem with my ns. but from yesterday my bike can’t able to start I tried so many times even in push start method also. so I recharged my battery and again I tried to start but I won’t wakeup what can I do even I tried in local market and also on online to change my battery but specified battery is not available. I was so disappointed without my bike I can’t able to anything with peace of mind.

awesome bike…smooth, crispy,powerfull, GOOD MILEAGE, and sexi looks..when the bike is new ride it slowly at the speedof 60 max till 2000 kms..do services on time…and take care of chain by lubricating it afer every 500 kms. Mleage is around 30 – 35 km in city and 40 – 45 on highway. if u want a mileage try to ride a bike most of the time on top gear like 4th,5th and 6th gear. do not ride a bike on reserve untill u cross 2000kms….refill it by by keeping half tank…..rest bike got no problems….
RIDE SAFELY AND USE ALL PROTECTIONS FOR A COOL,CONFIDENT AND SAFE RIDE !!!! CHEEERSS…;)

Hi all.
i am a proud owner of a 200ns.. And recently my battery was damaged. upon enquiring i understood that the ETZ 9 (12V 8Ah ) VRLA battery is not available in the market coz its an OE product. the same is with some other bike manufacturers also.
So to get a new battery for your pulsar200 ns u hav 3 options.
1. Go to your cities main Exide dealer. N tell them to order a battery for 200ns with the above rating. you will get it as a special delivery. i got mine that way in a few days.
2. The KTM Duke 200 and pulsar 200ns have the same battery. go to a ktm showroom and buy a battery for ktm duke 200 . theg always have it in stock
3. mail bajaj customer care and ask them to help you. i initially mailed them with my need, location and contact. They called me the next day n said that the showroom at my loc dsnt hav batry in stock and they will make it available in 2 days as special delivery from another district. But by then i have recieved d battry by den from exide . so i closed d complaint.
n one more tip. instead of complaining think n find out a solution. n its a good bike

I feel very bad.
because pulsar 200ns was my dream bike but now I understand that it is the worst bike i ever had.
I was traveling to noida on express way .
and in the mid of it .the engine of my bike was ceased.due to the bike chain ,it cuts the engine chamber & all the engine oil flows out.
why the manufacturer made the engine too close to the bike chain.
and after then every month I have to service it.
and the bike become a scooty.

200NS is a good bike.i was having all series of pulsar 150,180 ug4, old 200,220f.Finally 200NS 7.04.2015 i have punched n i have drived top speed of 140 . Till now i dint face any problem regarding bike,i faced only 1 problem in handle loose.But over all bike super n good.My oppenien is u cn perches pulsar200NS

To everyone who says that pulsar 200NS is not a good bike or something else…….I bought a pulsar 200 Ns on 28 dec2015 since then i have loved thia bike now its been almost 3 years and till now i haven’t faced any big problems yet……but yes there had been some problems like coolant sensor burn or bike making vibrations but i always took my bike to bajaj showrooms for servicing and everytime they did a good job and resolved all my complains…and now i love my bike…..

200 ns is a best bike in the segment of one lakh and on 31st sept i brought my 200 ns and my bike has completed 1 year with out any issue or problem but my average is less it is only 15 to 20 bcoz i tune up my 200ns so that it is giving me a good pickup and good top speed and apart from all these i don’t think ns is a third class bike it is the best bike i luv u NS

Worst service
They just listen to the problems, but never fix those
I gave my NS thrice @ indiranagar,bangalore service centre to fix front end alignment but they didn’t fix it
It was way better before 1st service
no midrange pickup , lots of vibrations (no one wants to sit back because of vibrations) , chain loose every 100 -200kms, now it struggles a lot above 90kmph…..

It’s a great bike for its price
but service people make it worse
I’ve had enough of problems & now it’s time to get rid of it

Hi, pulsar ns 200 is complete value for money.
Not even a single issue till now. Purchased on 13th jan 2013
Till now driven 32000 kms. Perfect on all conditions. Was really helpful during chennai floods. Only that u need to drive and should have passion for driving.
in ktm and ninja, engine heat is still worse. Thats y co. Has provided radiator with coolant. Check d condition of coolant and replace it.
I have serviced my bike more than 12 times by myself.
stop complaining and read manuals.

am from Egypt, and I really got confused!!!I searched a lot about this bike, there are 2 kind of consumers for this bike, 1) Extremely Satisfied and 2) Extremely Disappointed, which make me think million of times before buying this bike, I don’t know now what should I do, I should buy this bike after 2 days, and there is another bike in my country “Benelli 200 cc” which costs 10,000 LE while pulsar 200 ns costs 17,000 LE for me its a huge difference in budget, but its not the main issue to choose between them, my big problem when i asked in my country about 90 % of mechanics and shops don’t know real thing about it, they just know its a good quality bike as a Bajaj but not popular as a Pulsar, and its spare parts are more expensive, and resale is very law also, but honestly I love the shape of this bike so much, but should I really go for it or not!!!I can’t risk with 50 % of consumers are satisfied with another word it depends on luck!!!please help me to decide should I got Pulsar 200 ns or not…….thanks for all of you

I booked 1st pulsar 200ns when its comes to launch and thy give me in with in 15 days at tht I remeber bike goes fast n fast when it gets rain in my bike ,the bike give me 1st little problem thts no more smoother accelartion .. well I do my 1st service and then kind find anything or feel anything wht we get feel powers,soul or communication with our bike.. then I realize tht I m not gonna do more my rest free servicing …the service centre only thy can fix it thy cant fix wht u need proper fixing body,so I starrted servicing the local best bike servicing which thy r very exprienced in many bikes .
I m gonna tell this bike wht makes u happy wht nt
1: fun to ride much in street or traffic,good brakes ,cornoring ,well comfortable seat for local or highway but cant hold much comfortable for long tour if u r tall,its faster .. I reached my top speed once upon a time 162 only 4 times its reached after tht 150,152 avg now I get after 4 yrs 128 because of lots of servicing … so this is it

IVE DONE ALL SERVICES FROM BAJAJ SERVICE CENTER, BUT NOW THEY ASK WE PROVIDE 30000KM WARRANTY AND YOUR BIKE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND YOU WILL PAY FOR ALL REARING… WHAT IS THIS YAAR. IF BAJAJ PROVIDE 30K WARRANTY SO BIKE ONLY RUN 30K. AFTER THAT WE WILL SPEND AGAIN RS-10000 FOR REAIRING.

for all of the NS family here I am too late on this forum but… my bike manufactured in 2012 and I got it on 2013 Jan and yes initially I had some what same problems… but all just minor which I never cared and my bike is now 4yrs with me done 50,000km and never had such problems after one month of purchase… few good Meckanics even in authorised service centre for this beast… nothing comes free of you enjoy ripping you should pay little for mentainence… I am enjoying my NS since I brought

I think your radiator fan is not working, the engine will shut off if the coolant temperature exceeds the maximum limit. I had exact same problem with my ns 200 which I bought last week. you can check your fan by idling abt 3 minutes, it should start if it is normal.
