I bought an AC from the Croma store on Mount Road in Chennai around 7 months back. And I bought the in store brand for around 25 or 26k along with the extended warranty.

The normal service is supposed to be every 3 months and no one turned up after the first 3 months ! And they recently turned up just as my AC was dying with absolutely no cooling.

The person who investigated the issue – Mr Natarajan (I think his name was) informed me that the gas had leaked and it had to be refilled. Imagine the gas leaking out of a new. AC in under a year ! Fantastic product by Croma !

Anyway this chap told me he will get the required approval for filling the gas within a couple of days and call me back. And then he did not call me for at least 2 weeks.

Finally after their “servicing” the AC has one side chipped off and the bottom of the AC is hanging about to fall off ! Their was a slight water dripping earlier which also had to be serviced and after they serviced the whole of the water falls down on my bed !

They were trying to push off the cost on my head for replacing the indoor unit and then after numerous negotiations they realized that my AC is not even 7 months old ! How can AC just 7 months old fall apart like that ?

They promised to provide me with a replacement for the indoor unit. It took them ONE month to call back saying that they got the spare parts.

Now after that call it has been another month and they still have not replaced the indoor unit. I am struggling in the Chennai heat with a non performing AC.

I talked to Mr Lakshmanan whose team is in charge of service and he promised me twice someone will come and no one has bothered to even call me so far.

I raised a complaint with their helpline, that too the third time I am doing and so far no one has bothered to call me back !

I hope posting here will make some difference.

Pathetic that this is a TATA company !!!
