Name of company/service: Airtel, IPTV Service
I, Sunil Kumar, activated an Airtel IPTV Service (Combination of Internet/Landline/TV Cable)in the month of Dec’11. Due to official requirements, i only got shifted to South India for 6-8 months. Due to this the purpose of getting the Airtel IPTV was defeted since I was the only one using the Internet Plan. We finally decided to discontinue the connection and sent an email to [email protected]. We received a call back from Airtel Rentention Team, Ravish, who enquired about the reason for deactivation. We were OK to get the migrated to some lower rental plan on temporary basis however no such option was given. Finally Ravish, offered discount of 30% on total bill for 6 months. We took some time to take a decision and responded to confirm the bill amount post promised discount of 30% p m so that the payment can be made. To my utter suprise, some other agent responded that the commitment given by Ravish, can’t be fulfilled as they do not have any such waiver scheme. Since the entire communication was documented over an email, we forwarded all such relevent emails however they denied to complete the given promise. This delayed for a long time, where we were ready to make the payment however no positive response was given. The connection was deactivated from Airtel’s side and after some time all of the given equipments were picked up by Airtel Representative. Last week on 17th July, i received an email from Airtel, stating they will be taking legal action against non payment of bills since they visited, sent letters & contacted us however did not get any response. This is a complete false statement as we did not receive any call for payment, no letters & only 01 home visit from Airtel, when he collected the equipments however no discussions related to outstanding bills took place.
I contacted Sunita(on 23rd July, 5pm approx), the representative to be contacted in sent letter and get the final settlement done. Before i could complete the scenario and settlement, she became so rude, and responded in most unprofessional manner & disconnected the call post saying, “Puri Zindagi laga dijaye per yea case close nahin hoga”.
This is to reiterate the entire communication has been documented on multiple emails, where i had initially asked for disconnection, the offer given by Airtel, my acceptance for making the payment, Airtel’s decision to not follow on their commitment and finally our follow up.
Again, the previous discussions has been pleasant with Airtel however the last discussion with Sunita was just pathetic. I actually contacted her with the mind frame to close the case however that discussion forced me to take this case to the Consumer Forum.
Hoping for Fair Judgement
