Name of company/service: TATA Motors /Fortune cars
Would appreciate your assistance on the below.
I had purchased a TATA Indica V2 Xeta GLS petrol car with company fitted LPG on September 5th, 2008 from Fortune Car (Powai) authorized dealer of TATA Motors. The car was purchased on loan from HDFC for 5 years.
All my servicing has always been done by the same dealer who has an authorized service center for the same. My car used to work fine on petrol however it did give problems of switching to LPG at times earlier. When informed the service center I was told that this could be due to some electrical fault, so they would clean the car and it would work fine for some months and the problem would repeat.
Recently the car started toggling between Petrol & LPG and I approached them once again on 22nd July 2013 after taking appointment. They informed me that they will have to change the filter and it may work, I asked them that if you are not sure how can you change the part and they said this is the only way they can test to resolve and if the problem is not due to that part they will replace back with the old one.
This trial & error went on for almost 3 weeks and each time they gave me the same reason, they changed the Filling Valve, Filter and LPG sensor and the problem was not resolved, finally I got tired and registered an online complaint with TATA motors Customer care with reference no : 1-19623531821 on 8th August and then I was told that some engineers from TATA motor will be visiting and then there was no feedback on the matter .I registered another complaint on 16th August asking for a status update and they reverted to my mail that they will change the Pressure Regulator, also I will have to pay for all the parts which was used for trial which was never told to me in all the weeks of testing. I had made it absolutely clear at the outset that I would bear the cost of only those spare parts which ultimately resolve my car problem, not those spare parts which were being used for testing.
I called Mr. Ashish Bhatt(GM fortune Cars) on August 17th to discuss further, he informed me that even after replacing the regulator they are not sure if it will resolve and told me verbally that the cost will come to approx Rs. 40000/- only for the spare parts. I objected to this cost as the problem still stands unresolved and since almost 4 weeks have passed since I gave them my car, I informed them to return my car in the same condition it was when it was taken to them. I was told by Mr. Ashish Bhatt that I will have to bear the cost of all the spare parts replaced till now otherwise they will not release the car.
Kindly help escalate this matter with TATA motors, I am at the mercy of a Dealer who, far from helping in resolving the car problem, is thrusting his testing cost on to me.
