Embarrassment, Breach of trust by ShoppersStop, Begumpet

Hi

I had done shopping at begumpet ShopperStop on 5th of december and inside their store some one gave me a card and asked me to fill it for entry into some contest/prize.

Yesterday i got a call from 040-66343654 stating that i was one among 20th others to have won some vouchers, Packages for Hotel/Holidays worth 25000Rs and kitchen set stuff.

The guy insists that only couple should come and collect it, inspite of me telling him that i have never entered my marital status as MARRIED in the form.

He insists that I send any other couple (among my family or friends) to your said ShoppersStop today at 4pm for Photo shooting and collect the prize.

This is a big embarrassing thing that my entry wins a prize in lucky draw and some one else has to come and collect it for the gift is meant for couples and that they have photo shoot program.

And when i told him i cant send anyone at 4pm as most of them will be in office on a working day, he says i may loose the prize.

What bullshit is this ??
If this is a scheme from ShoppersStop.. i would like ask ShoopersStop what ethical business practice is this ??
If this is a scheme from outsider, i would like to ask why is such a brand like your’s allowing cheap players inside your premises.
Why has ShoppersStop sold my personal information like this without my consent… are they aware this amounts to breach of customers trust which is more precious than the profits they make ??

After writing to their customer care email, they dint reply yet, but i got a mail from the club as follows:

Mr Vijay,

I apologies for the inconvenience actually one of our employee called you and he has given a some ( correct information / wrong information ) to you,that executive is newly join and after your complain we have taken a immediate action on that executive.

We will provide you wroth Rs-2000/- Shopper Stop Shopping Gift Voucher , 1 Tea set And 1 Holiday voucher.

Please do a favor give your address i my self handover this gifts to you….

I want to take this forward to Consumer forums and let people know the cheap tactics that are used to induce people in giving away their personal information for further manipulation and abuse.
