Customer Service

I ported from Vodafone to AIrtel and there was some unpaid bill amount left on Vodafone. Since the number was discontinued in Vodafone, I could not make the payment online. I am working and I have a small baby so time is precious. I tried sending my driver with cash to make the payment at Fort, he was told that they can’t take the payment from him at the counter and he had to use the machine but that of course didn’t recognize my number since I had discontinued. I wrote 4 separate mails to the customer service team asking them to help by either telling me how to make the payment or send a courier to pick up the payment from my address. Instead of replying with a proper mail that simply answered my question, I received all 4 times the template answer signed off by different reps that didn’t answer my question at all and was just unhelpful. Either have a customer service team or don’t have one, this just didn’t make any sense.
I found the whole ordeal quite ridiculous. I finally went myself, taking my baby in the heavy rain, to make this payment.
My main problem is that no one was able to send me a decent helpful mail explaining what the problem was with my driver attempting to make the cash payment at the office on my behalf and how that could be resolved. Isn’t a customer service team supposed to help and answer questions? Just to receive a template reply again and again regardless of what is written in my mail is laughable and honestly a waste of Vodafone’s money spent on salaries.
I had to make so much of an effort just to make a Rs 1800 bill payment, and it was ridiculous that I had to go through that effort on my end to get the money into Vodafone’s hands.
