connection deactivated after topping up (Rs 557)

Hi,

I moved to chennai recently due to official reasons. I purchased an Aircel sim from near by retailer for Rs 100(Dont know why he took 100 as actual cost is 20). He immediately provided sim card and it was activated in a day (vary happy with service that time). I topped up it with Rs 500 and STD reducing tariff for Rs 57.

After 2 days it was de-activated and outgoing was barred. I went to that shop and asked the reason. He told it will be activated in an hour. I came back but it was not activated for next two days.

I went to Velachery located aircel outlet. They have token system. I took my token and my waiting was after 5 members. The service is so pathetic which cannot be described. All the executive girls are more focusing on their make up and plans. No one bothered to respond till one of the person who was waiting for longer time started shouting and abusing(Which was unfair but he had no choice). Finally my number cane after 48 min of long waiting.The guy told me that my application is rejected and need some proof. I provided him my driving license(from bihar in booklet format). After 5 min looking at it , he took it inside and came back saying it is not clear and need some other proof. I had a xerox of passport and Pan card(original). He said it will not be accepted and he needs original passport to verify(Not sure if it is rule ,as every where they look for Xerox).I was very irritated and I asked him to refund my money which i have topped up and for other services. All staff started laughing and started discussing in tamil. He said (a bit of commenting) go to retailer from where u have purchased it and ask for refund. I had no choice but to come back.

Again I went to retailer and complained. He told that your ID proof xerox is not clear and it was returned.We need some other proof. I provided him actual passport. He has no xerox machine and he asked me to get a photo copy of it . He took xerox of passport,driving licence and pancard. He assured that SIM will be activated in next 24 hours.

After that i have went to him atleast for 12 times but he everytime he says it will be activated in 1 hour and send message to some one or make call to some one narrating same story again and again.

Now there is no incoming call and i believe it is de-activated. This is very pathetic from Aircel end or who ever is involved in it. A person who is new to a place needs a Sim to communicate. But it was a pathetic experience. I work in renowned MNC and hold a vodafone postpay corporate card with awsome facilities. I request Aircel to activate this sim atleast now or refund my money.
