Dear Sir / Madam
Sub: Complaint against the Electricity Department

We, Usha Pathak & Keshav Dev Pathak residents of Prakash Textile Compound Gali No. 3, Mendu Road, Hathras, hereby made a complaint against the Electricity Department. On July 25, 2012, we had left our home to Raya for some personal work. During our journey to Raya, we received a call on the cell phone from the neighbour Mr. I.P Sharma that a fire had been set out in our home and smoke is coming out. We returned to our home immediately and found that the dark smoke was coming out of our home and tried to control the fire with the help of the neighbours.
When we managed to enter into our house, we found that following items were fully burned:
Sr.No. Assets Amount (Rs.)
1Refregirator(Make:Samsung210) 13,500
2.WaterPurfierRO(UrekaForbes) 11,000
3. Inverter 4,500
4. Controller and battery 10,500
6. Kitchen Furniture (Wooden Cabinets) 50,000
7. Loss of tiles of kitchen walls 50,000
8. Painting of whole house including POP (including cost of labour) 200,000
9. Kitchen Utensils and other kitchen items 50,000
10. Kitchen Floor 50,000
11. Stabilizer 2,500
12. 7 CFL Lites @ 180 Per CFL Lite 1,080
13. 2 Tube Lites @ 250 500
15. Kitchen Exhaust Fans 500
16. Kitchen Fan 1000
445,080/-

After enquiry into the matter from the neighbours, we came to know that in the afternoon of July 25, 2012, suddenly the voltage of electricity became very high. Due to very high voltage, there happened a short circuit in the kitchen of our house and fire broke out which ruined our assets. The fire broke out in our house only because our house was unattended. Several of our neighbour also had to bear loss of their assets / electrical items like Cooler, Fan, TV, Motor Pump etc.

We pray before your honour that the fire broke out into our house because of the negligence or fault of the electricity department thus an order directing to the electricity deparment of making our financial damages of Rs. 445,080/- good may be passed and ablidge. We also hereby submit that we are filing this application today only because it took us long time to recover from the metal trauma of loss of our assets.
Thanking you
Yours faithfully

(Usha Pathaki & Keshav Dev Pathak)
