Complain regarding Policy (Policy Number: FB10064294) from AVIVA life Insurance

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is regarding my insurance policy with AVIVA Life Insurance.

I had taken Family Income Builder policy (Policy Number: FB10064294) from AVIVA life Insurance, suggested by my friend working with INDUSIND Bank in the year 2012 by making first premium of Rs 76000/-.

I renewed my policy for the term 2013 by paying Rs. 78169/- on 29-9-13 at AVIVA Jayanagar office as second premium of my policy.

After making second premium, I received a call from the customer care of Aviva that my policy has been declined due to medical reason and they would return the second premium that I paid.

They also told that my first premium would NOT be returned back.

After making my first premium for Family Income builder, I applied for another policy with AVIVA for which they conducted medical test in the year 2013.

They found out that I had ELEVATED HBA1C. Due to this medical reason, I had not got the approval for new policy.

The customer care people informed me that due to the same reason on medical grounds, they have declined my Policy FB10064294.

I already hold a policy with AVIVA “Aviva Life Shield Plus / ASP3040896” before Family Income Builder policy (Policy Number: FB10064294) in 2011 – for which medical test was conducted. The test was passed and policy was issued.

How will I know that there will be a change in my health status (elevated HBA1C) within a span of an year and half.

They asked me to collect my cheque for Rs. 78169/- which I paid as second premium. But when I asked them when I would receive my first premium of around Rs 76000/-. They said as per policy the first premium amount would NOT be returned.

The policy FB10064294 IS NOT cancelled/closed by me. The policy has been declined by Aviva. Hence, I have all the rights to get my entire payment I made for this policy FB10064294.

I request you to take necessary action and please ensure that receive my entire amount of Rs 1,54,169/- (Including first and second premium made).

This policy (Policy Number: FB10064294) was only taken as tax saving and NOT for life cover, now am losing entire HARD EARNED money.

Incidents like this makes us rethink and discourage us on doing tax saving through any insurance company even in future.

I already sent a mail to Aviva life insurance grievance cell and they also replied that ONLY my second premium would be returned as per policy. Am not satisfied with their reply.
