Subject : Complaint against harassment.
Dear Sir ,
Through this mail, I would like to draw your attention about a unfortunate incident that I had to undergo on 05/09/2012 at 6.47 pm at Shyambazar metro station . On that day & time I was returning home from my office & I face difficulty when going out from the Shyambazar metro station. I put my smart card on the specified port of the automatic lock gate machine but door did not open. I informed the matter to the officials present there. They send me to the station master. Station master told me that I had travelled the metro illegally as according to him my smart card was not entried properly in my boarding station . I tried my best to convince him that I had entried into the platform after putting my the smart card in the specified port or I did not have any clue that smart card was not entried in the boarding station . He charged me a fine of Rs 262 for this & threatened to put me in jail custody if did not ready to pay the amount. I want to say it is not my fault that the smart card was not entried at boarding station & it happened due to the mechanical failure of the automatic system. I would also state that I am a regular traveler of the Kolkata Metro rail for last two years & ride twice a day in the Kolkata metro in regular basis. I also stated to deduct my fare from my smart card’s balance as it was not entried due mechanical failure of the automatic (lock gate) system. During this conversation the officials present there used very abusive language against me .
At first I refused to pay the fine as a result they confined me in a small custody (where they put their bags) for more than 30 mins. & then I became ill & was compelled to pay fine and got released. In this incident without any fault of mine , had to pay fine & had to face mental torture . Now I feel very insecure in Kolkata metro from that day . I have attached my all evidences in this mail. I want immediate action against this through you Sir.
