Airtel DTH customer ID no.03011611880
It is necessary to bring to your attention the practices adopted by leading and reputed company like Airtel to mislead and rob their customers based on the experience that I went through recently.
On 02/04/2013 Airtel installed DTH disc connection to my residential TV at my Mohan Nagar Chinchwad residence. Technician by name Ashok did the installation job and asked me to choose the plan for monthly recharge. I told him to give the cheapest plan. He said the cheapest plan is Rs.220/-. He told me to recharge the connection by paying Rs.220/- when the next payment is due. However before the due time I received messages on my mobile phone from Airtel to recharge by paying Rs. Rs. 400/-. I was surprised and called Airtel DTH customer. I explained to service executive service that Mr Ashok confirmed recharge by paying Rs. 220/- not Rs.400/-. The C. Service executive told me to pay Rs. 400/- to continue the service. I was shocked that I was cheated. Hence I did not recharge the service of Airtel DTH.
On 03/04/2013 at 11.00 am I received a call from airtel agent from tel no. 022 40680107 by Ms. Saba who informed me that my Airtel DTH ID no.03011611880 has won the lucky draw and that I am entitled to get 8 months free Airtel DTH service and that in addition to it since I use Airtel mobile service I am also entitled for discount of Rs. 120/- on my next mobile bill. She said I would be entitled for this reward provided I recharge the DTH connection by paying Rs.220/- within next 2 hours from the phone call that I received. Accordingly immediately I recharged the connection by paying Rs.220/- to a dealer in Thane (mob no. 09892563267) under transaction ID 56825535. Upon this my DTH connection resumed. Next day when I checked with Airtel customer service about my lucky draw award they told me there is no such scheme and I was cheated by a falls phone call.
Upon this I sent several e-mails to DTH Airtel asking how the phone caller on 03/04/2013 had access to my personal DTH- Id no. and my mobile phone no. if it was a falls call. I have still not received any reply from DTH Airtel to my querry which amounts to DTH Airtel’s hand in the falls telephone call. Now DTH Airtel are calling me again and again and asking me to recharge the connection without taking action to my issue of having been cheated by DTH Airtel.
Santosh Redkar.
