Subject: Deficiency in services by delaying the order processing
On 31st January 2012, via a call from your company executive, one Mr. Arpit(#99971634214) I purchased one affordable holidays package for 4 nights and 5 days. When he asked my debit card details, I refused to disclose but later he assured me that he was from the reputed India Today group, I trusted his words and gave my card details. However, he booked 4 packages instead of 1(Rs. 5,998 for each package) without my approval. When I asked him the reason, he said your company is offering 1 blackberry mobile worth 20,000 with this combined package.
However, when I received the courier, I was shocked to see that there was no such free blackberry. When I tried to reach Mr. Arpit, he was not available. Then I contacted your customer care who had no clue of this and asked me to send my issue details through an Email. I sent mails many times, but no one responded. Then I called customer care on 25th February 2012 and asked them to cancel my order and refund the money back. On 28th February 2012, one Mr. Gaurav (#8287126936) from your company called me and informed me that the blackberry mobiles are out of stock and also said that if I ordered another holiday package, he would send me one LG LCD model no-LC7R. I informed him about my booking of 4 packages already. He made me speak to his manager, who apologized to me for not delivering the mobile and assured me to send LG LCD 32” TV within a week. For that your executives asked my credit card details. I trusted them and revealed my details. To my utter shock, they booked a 5th package on February 28th 2012. Your company’s deceitful activities did not stop here. When I received my bank statement, I found that there was another transaction made on February 29th 2012 by your company without my approval. Attached is the copy of all these transaction details as Annexure I.
On April 15th 2012, I asked your company to cancel all the orders and send my money back with interest immediately. However, on 19th April 2012, Ms. Ranjana Gupta called me and apologized for the inconvenience and promised to resolve the issue soon. On April 21st 2012, one Mr.Arun Kapoor, customer care, book my holiday and mailed me that I was eligible for a blackberry curve 8520 and I would receive the gift within 10 days. He also said that if I wanted, I could even change package holder’s name one time for each package as a goodwill gesture. Trusting his words, I sent 4 holiday vouchers duly filled-in with 4 different names along with a DD for Rs. 450 for each voucher in December 2012. Attached is the copy of the same as Annexure II.
The transactions with order id`s-1014756031, 1014759276, 1014759424, 1014759600, are still pending to be resolved. Unfortunately, your company rejected my voucher forms with an excuse saying that I have not given a 21 day notice period and that I have made a group booking etc. However, I clarified the misunderstandings by showing the proofs I have with me. Later I was told that the package has expired for the booking id-1014759276. The holiday booked for the date 1st February 2013 for this id has an expiry date on February 11th 2013. Attached are the details for this package as Annexure III. In this case, a 21 day notice period also was given and the courier was sent on 2/1/2013 and your company said that it reached you on 8/1/2013 (8/1/2013+21 days=29/1/2013). So this allegation made by your company is baseless. Moreover, I have no information regarding the booking id-1014759600 for which all conditions were satisfied.
I am totally fed up of the entire episode and the whole experience with your company has left me in a bitter taste. It is unfortunate that I was made to suffer this much for over so many months for the negligence made by your executives. The issue is still being unnecessarily dragged by your staff till date. This is clearly a case of duping of a customer by intentionally delaying the processing of the orders on some baseless allegations.
I am extremely disappointed with your pathetic services and feel totally cheated. I, therefore, ask you to intervene in the matter and make sure that my following requirements are met:
• I want the processing of the 4 packages (which are already booked in December with different names for each package) to be done without any objection from your side and immediately.
If my above requirements are not possible to be met, you may please cancel remaining 4 orders and just refund me the amount I paid to you for the packages which makes a refund from your company Rs.27292/- (Rs.23992) (Rs.5,998*4) + DD charges-1,800 (Rs.450*4)+commissions and courier charges- Rs.1,500 along with interest.
In the view of above, I request you to kindly ensure that I get my total refund of the amount I paid to your company towards this offer, as early as possible.
As a consequence of your deficient service and the repeated in competency displayed by your employees, I have suffered undue hardship and mental frustration.
I would like to emphasize that:
• You have been grossly negligent in resolving my complaint.
• I have undergone a lot of extreme stress and mental agony because of your deficient service.
Given the above sequence of events, I request you to make sure my above-mentioned requirements are met. In addition, I request you to compensate me with an amount of Rs. 10,000/- for the extreme stress and mental agony you have caused to me and the cost incurred by me in trying to resolve my grievance.
