I purchased Areon Car perfume from Shopclues.com on 23rd April 2013 from their website for Rs. 273/- and paid using my Credit Card. As per the merchant selling this product on Shopclues.com, he had an anniversary offer of buy 2 and get 1 free. I had ordered for their “Wish” fragrance under the offer. On 1st May, the product got delivered to my address and to my surprise, I found just 1 piece of the car perfume whereas there should have been 3 pieces and the fragrance which I was sent was not “Wish”, it was “Dream” which I never asked for!
I immediately called up Shopclues (since they do not share their merchants/vendors contact details unlike other online shopping companies do) and reported this issue with them. I also went to their website and requested for a refund the same day. I got a few emails from Shopclues and a couple of times, they have been asking me for a snapshot of the product! I sent them the snapshot the first time and I was replied to the same email again asking for a snapshot. However, everytime I replied to the emails, there was a different person replying back each time. I also called up their customer service department to check on what is the update, to which, they said they are still working with the merchant/vendor on the same as he is not responding!!! How can such companies have such lousy and irresponsible vendors who do not even respond to queries? I have sent a few follow up emails to Shopclues, but to no avail. I also warned them of taking this issue with the Consumer Court, but, they didnt bother to respond or call back.
Having said this, I would like to request the authorities at the Consumer Court to kindly look into this issue and help me with a resolution to my issue with Shopclues. I could have approached the vendor/merchant directly, but Shopclues customer care personnel denied sharing his contact details. I would be obliged if Shopclues would fasten up the resolution process with their vendor/merchant and get me justice to my purchase, as I feel I have been cheated!
