I am Abhisek Swain working with a PSB at Vellakovil, Erode Dist, Tamilnadu. I had applied for a BSNL broadband connection in December 2014 with my Bank letter that i am being posted at Vellakovil. When I asked about the charges i have to pay for new connection, the person at the counter, who received my application and detailed me the plan told, Rs. 500 upfront fee, Rs. 750 advance either you pay now or with 1st month bill and NO OTHER CHARGES. I reiterated is there any other charges, they replied me with no other charges.
When I received the 1st month bill, It was Rs. 3000 with Rs. 0 for calls. When i asked the BSNL people, where do all the charges come from, they told these are govt. charges and you have to pay. When i asked, why they have told no other charges, they replied you should have asked competent authority. I do not know whether the CMD even a competent authority. While i asked about charges , they all directed me to the counter, now they say they are clerical people. when i asked if you have all these charges then why don’t you communicate or share a leaflet of all charges, they are answer less and throw illogical argument.
When I refused to pay any such amount, they disconnected the line, now 5-6 BSNL people without even calling me once in these 3months came into the bank branch, shouting with the branch manager demanding me to pay all the money or face consequences. They made a chaotic situation in a peak working hour at a govt. bank saying each employee and customer that i did not pay the bill and they will register a police complaint and take the matter to the regional office of our bank, where they do know some people.
I am a human being like you and those ridiculous BSNL, do u ever avail a service without knowing how much it will cost you??? I am no different, BSNL in such a pathetic situation, still they want to cheat people. Please advise me a way forward.
