Billing Fraud – Unexpected Increase in Credit Limit

I am a Vodafone Corporate user.

My billing cycle is 3rd Aug – 2 Sep. Till 11 August 2014, my credit limit was Rs 7,000. Then I visited a foreign location, where I got to know through a text message from Vodafone that my unbilled usage is Rs 19,000 (data charged at ~Rs 550 per MB).

My concern is who authorized Vodafone to increase my credit limit from Rs 7,000 to Rs 19,000 in 1 day and that too without any notification. Worst part was my outgoing calls were barred when I was at that foreign location but only after my bill was 19,000. As per my understanding of credit limit, I should have my calls barred right after 7,000 and I must have received a call from Vodafone to take authorization for increase in credit limit.

When I called the customer care to check why was my credit limit increased from 7,000 to 20,000 in a day. The answer is: Credit limit gets automatically increase based on usage. In last years my credit limit just reached 7,000 and in 1 day it gets increased to 20,000.

This is really a matter of shame for a company like Vodafone. I am soon planning to migrate to a different connection if these guys do not sort out this issue and answer why it got increased to 20,000.

Beware guys, Vodafone does not seem to be a company to trust for billing.
