Hello,
I am a corporate customer of Maruti Suzuki. Last week I purchased Maruti Alto 800 LXi from Ocean Motors Pvt Ltd, Indore. I had given amount of Rs.15000 as a booking amount to Ocean Motors on 18th May 2013 and then planned to take delivery of car in June by paying remaining amount. I visited showroom on 9th June 2013 to make the major part of remaining payment and informed sales manager that I will take physical delivery of car on 10th June 2013, but he insisted that I should take delivery on 9th June. On his repetetive insistance I took the delivery on 9th June, but car was not billed on the same day as I had some more payment to be made to them. On 10th June 2013 I came to know that Maruti Suzuki has announced Gold coin scheme for customer purchasing car b/w 10th and 18th June. On hearing this I called up sales manager Mr. Vaibhav Kulkarni and told him that since my car will be billed after 10th June 2013, so I must get Gold coin as part of offer. But he rejected it saying that since physical delivery of the car was made on 9th June 2013, so I will not be eligible for Gold coin offer. I tried to talk to Ocean Motors general manager Mr. Manish Holkar, but he reufused talking to me making an excuse that he is out of office, though he was present in the office that day.
Couple of things:
1) Sales manager would have definetly known that Maruti is going to roll out Gold coin scheme from 10th June, but inspite of that he insisted that I should delivery on 9th June.
2) Car would be called delivered on the day when it is billed in the system and invoiced and not the day when physical delivery is made. So I must get gold coin since complete payment was made on 15th June and invoice was prepared on 15th.
