During my induction program of joining to my company, Vodafone sold connections like hot dogs promising all excellent services possible. Just 2 days of my sim activation, with all the ‘so called verification formalities’ done, my outgoing calls were barred. When asked about it (not to mention the long wait for the customer care executives) , I was told that I had exceeded my credit limit (?). In all real sense I didn’t knew what that meant. So I asked what I was supposed to do to solve the issue. I paid some amount as I was asked to and services resumed but only for time being. Some days later the same problem came up. When asked the same reply came and out of frustration, I paid Rs. 1500 and services resumed. The icing on the cake came on 21 Jan, 2013 just 15 days after sim activation. Again my outgoing calls were barred. But they came up with a different story. This time around, they said my verification is not complete. From then on till today 15 Feb, 2013, 25 days on, the issue is yet to be solved. I am stranded at a new city with no outgoing and over that my incoming was barred too. My repeated calls and pleads to Vodafone has not bore a single fruit, while all the time they kept giving hope that it would be done the next day, the very next day. Vodafone has already called me at least 5-6 times just for the sake of verification and remarkably they ends up with no verification. On the top of it, one of the employees even gave me the option of discontinuing my connection – such unprofessional and irresponsibility. I would have surely discontinued my sim, just like my many other colleagues (around 20) – who took connections on the same day from the same event and faced similar problems, but the extra amount I had paid was not refundable.
