I got my 3G Dongle and SIM in June 2012, prepaid, since I wanted to use it only during travel. To start off, the sales people were useless. They were concentrating on selling their “AIRTEL Money”, today when I went to the customer care to get my problem rectified, they were busy selling”AIRTEL HD”. they are more keen in selling and that is about it.
Now coming to what happened. After the purchase, I had to figure everything out, since the person who sold it to me did not have any knowledge. Started using it and after a month when I wanted to recharge in an emergency – the airtel website ( http://www.airtel.in) refused to. Called customercare and they say “Saar, site is down, you can go to the shop and recharge it”. That fool doesn’t realise why I am having a dongle? If i could go to a shop to recharge, I would go to a internet cafe rather@!!
And then I didn’t bother recharging since, the whole purpose was lost and I got access to the internet through another source. A couple of weeks back I wanted to use my card and it refused to connect. So I recharged, thinking it was coz of no balance. I did for Rs.250 and it was of no avail. called up the useless customer care, and after half a day of haggling, they finally say the problem with the SIM – go and change the SIM
Went today to their “SHOP” and the fellow tells me, my number has been recycled since I did not use it for a couple of months. No one bothered to contact me and inform me or it was not told in the 1st instance, that they were going to take away my number. And the fellow has the nerve to tell me to go for a new connection – since my number is taken by someone else, @#@#@% can’t wait??? I asked, what about the Rs. 250 I recharged – he says it’s gone!!!! Ok fine, now give me a new no and SIM, since that is the only way, “Saar we need your passport size photo, your grandmothers photo and all shit”. I told him, you idiot, I came here for resolving a problem, you did not help, you give me a new connection and now you ask everything again, when I just gave all that a couple of months back. I told him to f off, no more AIRTEL!!! I wanted to tell him, to move his fat a.. and do something for a customer, rather than sit like a jerk and be paid some corporate money!!!
Never go for an AIRTEL 3G dongle, if you value customer service.
