Location/place: Bangalore
Name of company/service: Univercell
I had purchased a Samsung S2 mobile phone on 17 sep 2011. Along with the mobile Univercell sold me a oriental policy against theft.
Six months down the line Unfortunately my mobile was stolen from the carrier(my nephew -phone bought as a gift for his birthday)while transiting in a local bus.
As per univercel’s advice we went to the police and lodged a complaint. After experiencing enough harrasment I could finally manage to get the acknowledgement of the stolen mobile.
Again as per the instructions given to us by Univercel we were asked to send all the documents by courier to their insurance handling office at chennai. We did this on 7/05/2012. They asked us to wait for 40 days before we could get the claim.
As a follow up we wanted to know the status of the claim and we called up Univercell (contact person Janaki) and she says that she is awaiting for some more documents and we come to know only after calling her up. Now when we questioned about the document she says that she is already sent and gives me a docket number to follow up and the courier service(I am not sure how is that she is asking me to do her work).
I then call up the courier services and they say they are unable to find the document.
I write to Janaki and wait for her response from last 2 days and their seems to be no response from her side.
I am really stuck with Univercell and the claim and 50 days gone by i am yet to be heard of the commencement of the claim process and status quo remains the same for me.
All these people make huge money by selling the insurance policy but when it comes to commitment they fail. I am frustrated with such a behaviour from Uinvercel.
