I recently got my number (9967433311) ported to Airtel and I am being harassed with the operator. My number got ported on March 17th 2018 and was suspended on March 23rd 2018 without any notification.
When I reached out to customer care to report the issue, I was advised that the number has been suspended due to failure of address verification. I explained the CC professional that I have already received a message from Airtel stating that my address has been verified successfully on Feb 26th 2018 , but that did not help and I was asked to visit Airtel store.
Nevertheless, I spent the entire 24 hours approx. with a suspended number which obviously caused me a lot of inconvenience which Airtel is not bothered of. Next day, on March 24th, I visited the Airtel store to get the issue rectified to which they were KIND enough to advise to reach out to the person who got this number ported. Upon emphasizing, they looked in to the issue and said the same story about failure of address verification.
When I asked for a solution, they said that it will take 4 days to get the process initiated and I’ll get a call on my alternate number to visit the airtel store again to provide biometric, documents and a NOMINAL fine on Rs. 300 only (as if I get Rs. 300 kept on the road or prick it from a tree. PHEW…..). I don’t understand this process wherein you get a customer ported from other networks and get them ripped apart with this kind of service.
Firstly, the number was suspended without notification, then I was asked to reach out to Airtel store, roam around with a suspended number for a week and I am not even sure if it would end here.
Considering the fact that the number is very important to me, I’ll definitely pay the fine to get this activated again, though I was never at fault but rather a victim of Airtel.
I am reaching out to you so that I make sure that appropriate authorities is aware of this kind of torture the customer is facing and give an attempt so that I can save the fine plus will request you to adjust the no. of days for which the number has been suspended in the next bill. I do feel that I should be compensated with something big for the unnecessary torture I have been through but……
