You may loose money from Future Pay Wallet.

I purchased from Big Bazar during their “Sabse Sasta” offer on 26th January 2017. At the counter the billing person told me that I will get Rs.1200/- cash back in my Future Pay Wallet @Rs.100/- per month and for that I need to install the app. I was extremely glad to hear that. I also received several SMSs regarding this. After a few days I installed the app and in the month of Feb 2017 I indeed received Rs.100/-. I thought I will accumulate around Rs.500/- in five months and then visit the Big Bazar store. On 1st of March 2017 I received an SMS that my wallet has been aagain credited Rs.100/-. I opened the app to check this and to my surprise the balance remained the same as before i.e. Rs100/-. I thought there must be some mistake and called the customer care to check. The customer care person told me that I will indeed get Rs.100/- per month but I will have to spend that within the month otherwise it will lapse. Now the Big Bazar store is quite far away from my place and it is highly unlikely that I will ever go there to redeem only Rs.100/- from the wallet. They didn’t even bother to mention the expiry date of the money either thru SMS or through the app. It seems that they can take money from the wallet at will.

Now regarding the concept of wallet what I understood before that whatever money is stored in it remains there unless I spend it or some pick pocket steals it from there. The English dictionary also says so. So in other words Future Pay has stolen it from my wallet without even informing me. They didn’t ever mention either in the app or through any of the SMS I received that I need to spend the cashback every month. The Customer Care person told me that it was mentioned in the terms and conditions but I didn’t receive any terms and conditions either in the bill or in the app. This is quite disgusting. I am extremely annoyed by their misleading advertisements. This is almost like cheating. I am never going to use the app because if they can steal money from the wallet, they can do this even if I load it with my own money.
