Dear Sir/Ma’am,
This is regarding the shoddy service provided by MTNL broadband in Chembur (particularly the Lokhande Marg MTNL office). I had applied for the broadband (new phone connection) on 25/02/2015 and the broadband was started after about 20 days. During those 20 days we relentlessly followed up and were made to call a new number every second day. Finally fed up, when I went to the Chembur naka exchange to get the line disconnected that’s when they got it working the same day.
When we call 1504, they will take a complaint only when we insist otherwise they want to get done with simply turning off and on of modem and even during this process they will keep us on hold for several minutes. When we insist on a complaint they will take it but then give cell number of the person incharge for our area. When we call this person he will given another number. When we call the other person he will give another number and this goes on. But no one will take responsibility to get the internet working. Eventhough we repeatedly inform that our work is dependent on internet. The reason for having an internet connection is for work.
Since about a week the internet connection is not sustaining for over 5-10 minutes at a time. We waited hoping that the problem will get sorted on its own, but since it did not, we reluctantly called 1504. After going through the same rigmarole of turning the modem on and off, a complaint was registered on our second call to 1504 and mobile phone number of a concerned person was given. When called this person gave number of the line man. When the line man was called he was least interested and asked to register a complaint. Told him that a complaint was already registered and that we were asked to call him. Of course, the problem was not fixed, we observed the whole day yesterday. Called the concerned person today, this time he tells us that he is not the concerned person for our area, it is another person and we should call him, he will give us the number.
This is the modus operandi each time since the time we have got the connection and when it does not work. We have MTNL broadband connection in Mulund West too, but the response time and service there is so good. They respond promptly and if the problem does not get resolved they even come home and fix it. And we do not have to go through a merry-go-round of having to call multiple people who donot want to take the responsibility of getting the problem solved.
Writing to you in the hope that the problem with respect to the unprofessional service provided to Complaints from Chedda Nagar, Chembur are looked into and resolved.
