Amazon is selling its goods at a price which is greater than its actual MRP.
I ordered a strontium 8GB MicroSDHC Memory card from amazon.in at a deal price of Rs.210.
But when the product was delivered to me then I found that its actual MRP is Rs.207.
The difference in amount is very small i.e. Rs.3 and it hardly matters to anyone but the concern is that how can a reputed online retailer like amazon can sold their goods at a price greater than its MRP.
Under the Consumer Goods (Mandatory Printing of Cost of Production and Maximum Retail Price) Act, 2006, maximum retail price means such price at which the product shall be sold in retail and such price shall include all taxes levied on the product. Manufacturer is required to clearly mention the max retail price on the consumer good and the retailer is prohibited to sell at a price higher than the MRP.
