DEFAULT IN CREDIT CARD

I have received a telephone call from Mr Zakir Hussain of Kotak Securities, New Delhi that I am a defaulter of Credit Card. It was informed that I had taken a credit card in the year 2002 and there is an outstanding amount against this. I requested him that this matter is 12 years old and I have no records with me. As I remember that I had made the uptodate payment and therefore requested him to send me further details like Statement, dates of purchases and date of last payment. This details has not been received by me so far. He has given a number of threatening calls to me as well as my past employer in Gurgaon who is likely to file a FIR for threatening and extortion of money. My immediate query is

1. Why I have been contacted after a lapse of 12 years. Though I retired from Govt Service in May 2004, why no communication in this regard was sent to me at my office address/residential address, or why no one contacted me on telephone. These details were available with them.

2. Why threatening calls are being made on Mobile No. 9818008265 and also to my ex-employer with abusive language. I feel that there is some fraud in the matter.

I have a feeling that I am being unnecessarily harassed since an offer was made to me that if I pay a sum of Rs. 30,000.00 to him, the matter will be closed.

Please look into the matter and reply immediately on my e-mail since I have stopped picking up his Mobile No. 9582216200 and from various other Mobile/ Landline Nos.

Your immediate reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards
