surcharge on credit card payments

Hi Care,

One of the MarutiSuzuki Dealer at Bangalore Named Garuda Autocraft at lalbagh Road is charging 2 % for the Credit Crad Swipe for the amount above Rs-50000/-

This is no where applicable as per RBI Guidelines..

Why this extra charge? After all, credit cards only add to footfalls and are ultimately good for business.
This is how it works. A banker elucidates that merchant establishments must pay a certain fee for using a point-of-sale terminal (swipe machine) to the bank that installs it (the acquiring bank).

Evidently, some pass on this charge to consumers.

Kindly look into it as the Dealer now says he cannot give back the Booking amount of Rs-5000/- if the payment is not made within 23rd of Jul 2014.and the cancellation charges is Rs-2500/- is applicable for the same…
