My father Mr. Amal Kumar Sarkar has purchased an airtel number 9903162325 almost 2 years back and submitted the required documents along with the form and after the verification of those documents the number got activated. There had been no problems for these two tears. However on the evening at around 9 on 3rd august 2014 the number was blocked by the service provider stating that due to improper documents submitted at the time of applying for the connection all services for the said numbers have been suspended and was asked to submit the required documents to the nearest airtel customer care at the earliest. It was already night time and he was not in station..however I called up the customer desk atleast 10 times to reason with them and to give us time till monday morning to submit the papers and to dismiss the susoension of services till then. Hiwever after an hour of attempts I got to speak to a managerial level guy at customer care number 121 when he said he will try to evoke the suspension by next day morning. However that never happened. He went to the park street airtel customer care office to submit the papers and asked them why hus number was blocked. Nobody could give him a satisfactory answer. He was given a new sim card and was told that it will be activated in next 4 working days time. It took 7 working days to get the sim card activated along with 2 visits of my father from howrah to park street office. Ge had around 170 rupees balance before his number got blocked. He was promised he wud get that balance back once his number gets reactivated. Again that never happened. He went to the park street office once again and was told it wud be done by next day. Its already 3 days over since then. Still waiting. And no response fron 121. He lost a business connection worth rs 50000 because the person could not rwach his mobile and faced menral anciety and harassment from his business colleagues for the same. My question is if proper documents were not submitted at the time of applying for the connection why it was activated and before activation why it took 4 days for airtel to complete the verification and what verification did they do. Who is responsible for this harassment and why would we were made to suffer without any fault of ours. And the suffering is still on…please do something about this agony that my father faced.
