Hi,
My name is Sayantika Mitra, I was using Tikona Broadband as my Internet service provider with Customer ID- 1103051557. I had a Bi-yearly plan of Rs.3599 plan.
I was facing some regular disconnection issue since May 2013, I logged few cases and it was closed informing that no one answered the call. At last in June when the issue was at its worst condition I logged a case again with the Company and they informed me after a few days that the AP was discontinued in the month of April and right now my Wifi device is trying to connect to another AP which was at a far distance. They also informed me that they are not sure whether they will be able to re-establish the AP or not so they advised me to disconnect the connection service.
I informed them to do the same. I received a call on 1st of July informing me that they have discontinued the service and they will be visiting my place to collect the modem. I asked them to do so.
Today I received a call from some Shalini Sachdeva who said that she is an assistant for a lawyer in Delhi High Court and she is about to log a legal case on my name as advised by Tikona. She informed me that I will have to pay an amount of Rs. 6489 within 10 minutes or else she will log a case and I will have to go to Delhi by Wednesday or else I will be arrested.
I called Tikona and they informed me that I have not paid the bill for last month, I informed them that I am prepaid customer and that means that I pay first and then I use. Also informed that it the connection has been discontinued why I been charged they told me that as my billing date is from 15th Dec to 15th June and the connection was discontinued on 4th of july so I will have to pay for 15th June to 4th of July. And they will consider it as one month so I have to pay them Rs.675. I informed them as the AP was discontinued and I was not even informed about the same then it is there fault that the connection was not discontinued properly. Also if they were planning to grab more money from the customer then they should have sent a proper bill before they sent the information to Lawyer for logging a case.
I also informed that if tikona is trying to charge me for 19days then there has months in the last 3years when there was no connectivity and have logged multiple cases for the same, then they should deduct that first. He informed that if I need those information then I will have to send an email to the customer care to, I have done the same and waiting for the reply.
I researched on this kind of situation and found that this has happened to lots of people. I believe this kind harassment should be stopped with immediate effect as well as strict actions should be taken against Tikona so that they can stop this kind of nonsense.
