I had applied for Airtel broadband connection on 28th Apr. I chose a postpaid plan with monthly rental of Rs 1050 (Flash 30GB). I clearly asked about feasibility in my area and the sales person (Santhosh – 9535012402) assured me that it is available and can be installed within 2 working days.
He told me about an offer that if I paid 3 months rental in advance, I can get the wifi router free. So, I gave him a cheque for Rs 3150 (chq no. 856811), filled the form and gave the proofs required.
After 3 days when I didn’t get any response, I called customer care to get some update. They told me that technical guys have updated that no junction is free for a new connection and I should check after few days. When I checked after a few days, I got the same update. They informed me that I can cancel my connection application.
Then I called the sales officer to check with him. He again assured me it can be installed and asked for another 5 days. 3 weeks went by, I didn’t get a response. After that he started ignoring and rejecting my calls. After making repeated calls I could talk to his supervisor. He told that connection cannot be given and I should go for cancellation. He also assured that I will get my refund in 15 working days.
After 3 weeks when I didn’t get any response, I called back again only to hear that the policy says it takes 20 working days to process the refund. And he will forward this to concerned department and they will intimate me.
After a month of cancellation I gave my complain to nodal team ([email protected]) on 10/06. I was given a reference no. (34490204) and an end date for issue resolution (15/07). But I didn’t get any refund by that date. Meanwhile I received useless calls from their representatives (I think in order to meet their SLA).
Then I wrote to the next level of escalation, Appellate Authority ([email protected]). All I got is another reference no. (35460836) and a new end date for issue resolution (03/08).
I haven’t received my money or any intimation from Airtel yet.
I offered to come and collect my money from their office but they didn’t support that either.
Normally, if bill payment is delayed by a day, they charge a fine for that. My refund is delayed by 3 months now.
This is harassment and mockery of customer service.
