DEFECTIVE & TROUBLESOME BATTERY

As mentioned above, this vehicle was purchased by me from M/s Central Nissan (M/s Pride Cars Pvt. Ltd), Ahmedabad and was delivered to me on 31.08.2012.

On the day of delivery and prior to delivery of vehicle to me certain accessories were installed in Car on my instructions by M/s Central Nissan. Accessories installed included Remote Parking Sensor with Camera supplied by the Car Dealer, M/s Central Nissan.

The car performed well during first month of its purchase but thereafter, from Oct- Nov 2012 onwards, it started creating peculiar problem and the problem is that whenever Car is not put to use for 3-4 days (sometimes even 2 days) its battery discharges and car fails to start.

In the beginning, I thought it to be a minor problem because even on long routes and while running on city roads car never gave me a chance to feel unpleasant about my decision of purchasing Sunny XL.

Matter was brought to the notice of M/s. Central Nissan every time when battery discharged. M/s Central Nissan in turn, like a good Salesman, would arrange to tow away the vehicle to its workshop. Many times technicians of Road Side Assistance of Nissan Motors came to my residence to charge the battery. Once, Road side Assistance trailer took the car to workshop of M/s Central Nissan.

On every such occasion, vehicle remained in their possession for 2 to 3 days. Once it was for 6 days also. Every time after repairs I have been assured that fault has been rectified and it would not happen again. Many a times, thinking that defect could be in battery, I requested them to replace the battery but that was not done by dealer and I was told that replacement is not required and fault would not recur. This was all verbal and nothing was given to me in writing.

When M/s Central Nissan noticed repeated discharge of battery they advised me to keep the car in idle start position daily for 10 minutes for 20 days which I did. But things remained same.

From the date of purchase and till date (within a period of 11 months) my vehicle has been to the workshop of M/s Central Nissan at least 5 –7 times for detection and repair of same fault. This can be checked from their records. Confirmed reason for such fault has never been told to me by any mode of communication. After visiting workshop several times I feel that this could be due to:
1. Lack of Nissan trained engineers, technicians / workers and advanced equipments and tools. Just to eyewash customer they keep the vehicle in their workshop and deliver the vehicle after recharging the battery.

2. They simply want to pass the time during which repairs and replacements are not chargeable to customers.

In the month of February / March 2013, when my vehicle was there for repairs, I was told by Ms Prachi Agarwal of M/s Central Nissan that discharge of battery was due to wrongly installed Remote Parking Sensor which has been rectified. The battery will not trouble again. However, car battery proved wrong what M/s Prachi Agarwal predicted and discharged again.

Since M/s Central Nissan did not cooperated I brought entire problem in notice of Head, Customer Care Division of M/s Nissan Motors India (Pvt) Ltd, Chennai through Mail.
I received a reply from Customer Care Division that action would be taken within 72 hours and that details of my problem have been forwarded to the concerned dealer / higher management and concerned department of Nissan Motors.
Days passed but I was neither contacted by the dealer nor the higher management of Nissan Motors. I repeated my complaints again and again to Customer Care Division at least five times but even today nothing has been done by dealer or manufacturer to solve my problem. M/s Nissan Motors definitely issued me Ticket Number: GUJCENTAHM 2013061859537

On 17.06.2013 M/s Central Nissan sent one of their employees to bring the car to their workshop. But car did not start and battery was found discharged. He, on instructions from Mr. Khan of Central Nissan, removed the battery and took it to workshop for purpose known to them only. But till date of writing of this complaint (20.07.13) they have not returned the battery also which they took to their workshop . Some days back Mr Khan called me to collect the new battery from their workshop. To my surprise and astonishment I found that the battery offered to me was an old and reconditioned battery without any guarantee card / bill etc. Matter was again informed to Nissan Motors also which was again without any positive outcome.

Since more than sufficient time has passed and neither dealer nor manufacturer have been able to rectify the fault or solve my problem, I am writing this letter to you with intention of seeking your intervention in the matter.

I have purchased this car from my hard earned money. My money and emotions both are attached to it. In fact and in a way I am feeling financially as well emotionally harassed as a big part of my income is parked in front of me as non-performing asset. As said above, earlier I thought it to be minor problem but now tears run down my cheeks when car fails to start.

You are now requested to ask dealer (Central Nissan) / manufacturer (Nissan Motors) to:

a. Get the fault located, rectify it and inform me the all the reasons of fault and breakdown of the car in writing.
b. If battery is found faulty replace it immediately with NEW & ORIGINAL batterry without any cost to me.
c. If no fault is found in battery or elsewhere, replace the car.

They may also be asked to reimburse all petrol expense which I have incurred in taking and bringing the car from workshop, which is approximately 22 – 25 kilometers from my residence, several times.

Hoping information given by me is sufficient for resolving my problem.

    I’m facing the same issue till now(22/06/2015). Right now my car is in service center(Central Nissan, Ahmedabad, Narol) for almost 12th time.

    My car was purchased in 24th Oct’12. Nissan sunny petrol XE
