Re: This is regarding Airtel’s harassment and fraudulent way of making money in India.
I had taken a Airtel Landline and Broadband connection in Dec/Jan and is activated on January 31st, I made a advance rental of 5250/- for 6 months, I trusted Airtel so much that I did not hesitated to make advance payment. Subsequently on March 7th, Airtel disconnected the connection saying I have not made the payment. They have generated a bill for bill mentioned amount and they started harassing me from March 2013. I had trouble explaining to them that how can someone default on a Pre-Paid connection that to making advance payment. Initially I thought that they had trouble understanding this, but as I can see they are showing ignorance and pretending that bill is right so that I can make the full payment. I have used this connection for total of 36 days (1 in Jan, 28 in Feb, 7 in Mar) even if they go to court it is so clear how am supposed to make the full payment when I have used the connection for just 36 days.
I have no trouble making 5K odd payment but I wanted to highlight this as how much deception and cheating is happening by Airtel openly. If they make the same kind of treatment to middle class/low class people how are they going to survive in the State? Thank you very much for hearing this story, I am sure you will smooth out such behaviours by Airtel, This is just to bring it to your notice.

we do hereby issue you notice as follows:
We state that we are Land Line Telephony Service provider in the city of Bangalore. We state that you had approached and requested us to provide you our cellular Land Line phone facility. Relying upon your representation and assurance, we provided the said facility to you, with the clear understanding that you shall pay the bills on or before the due date. We state that you have availed the facility but, in breach of the aforesaid representation and promises made by you, you have failed and neglected to pay the amount of Rs. 5899 which is due and payable.
We state that in spite of our repeated reminder and request to pay the aforesaid amount, you have failed and neglected to pay the said amount till date. We state that from the aforesaid, it is apparent that you have intentionally and deliberately not paid the said amount for the facility used by you. We state that as on 01-JUNE-2013 a sum of Rs. 5899 due and payable by you.
We state that believing your representations to be true, we acted upon in good faith and entrusted upon you with our cellular mobile phone facility, which you put into extensive use and accumulated the above outstanding amount.
In the circumstances, we hereby call upon you to settle the amount amicably from the respective due date till the full & final payment, within 7 days from the date of receipt of this notice, failing which we shall be constrained to initiate appropriate legal proceedings against you in the Civil Court and/or in such other appropriate court/forum to institute legal proceedings against you for having utilized our cellular network and defaulting, entirely at your risk as to cost and consequences.
We state that without prejudice to our rights, if you are willing to make the aforesaid payment, within the stipulated time, you are requested to contact Ms Shaban On-9880984304 .
