Courier accepted to NON servicable area

Name of company/service: DTDC/Courier

I had sent a courier from chennai to Trichy on 14/12/12. The courier was despatched as normal, but after reaching the destination, the DTDC trichy main office guy calls and says, we have no service at the receivers area and asks the receiver to collect it from their office. When asked then why was the courier accepted when there is no service to that area, he says it happens sometimes and told that he would deliver it using his franchisee near the destination area . When spoken to the franchisee, he repeats the same saying that the courier is destined to non servicable area and says it cannot be delivered. When I spoke to him and told, I would complain to the head office if it is not delivered today i.e. on 17/12/12, he says you complaint wherever you want, let me see how it gets delivered to you.
Then, I made a call to Trichy DTDC head office and that guy said, sorry for inconvenience we will try to deliver it tomorrow i.e. on 18/12/12. The courier was still not received and when again called on 19/12/12, he tells it’s non servicable area and updates online tracking status as “RECEIVER NOT ACCEPTED” and when asked to return back the courier to chennai, he tells we can’t do that for next 5 days. kindly help me in either delivering my courier back to chennai or to destination ASAP and I would appreciate if appropriate action is taken on DTDC regarding the same and it’s customer service.
