I was a Reliance net connect customer for almost 1 year starting from early 2011 till May 2012 and I was using the USB dongle broadband.

From May 2012 I have decided to terminate the reliance broadband services as I had no requirement for any internet connection.
After a month of terminating the plan, I have decided to avail the prepaid broad band services and advised my parents to get help from a reliance outlet in Coimbatore, which is city where they live to activate the same dongle as a prepaid service.
They are being bounced back with various other contradicting explanations which include an advice to pay around Rs1500 for a new dongle.
Even after approaching different outlets, still I couldn’t able to get the existing dongle recharged as a prepaid service.
Apparently, I have paid for the dongle initially when I bought it, and I MUST be able to reuse as long as it not faulted, by paying for any available tariff at least from reliance network that provided the dongle.
Just like the mobile phone instrument, I should be able to use it ATLEAST with the same network provider as long as I pay for any available service plans.
Some of the executives in the Coimbatore outlet had told that, once it’s terminated it cannot be reused and we have the only option to buy a new dongle.
BUT I THINK, IT’S AGAINST THE GREEN ENVIRONMENT TO DISPOSE OFF THE DONGLE ITSELF JUST BECAUSE I TERMINATED THE SERVICE PLAN.
Please review this case and let me know the things to do to get the dongle activated.
