On 26th March 2015, I got a call from Shopcherries to take part in “2015 Mega Shopping Carnival”, which I accepted as a result of highly benevolent language of their staff, assuring me at least one prize. To register my name in the contest I was made to purchase “laxmi & Ganesh – Gold Plated Note” bearing order no. SCM1200007048 of Rs. 1499/-.
Later on, again I received call from this company, congratulating me for my name fixed against the 3rd prize (i.e, Honda CBR Bike). But for securing this prize I was made to do another purchase of Rs. 20,000/- for “One 18 KT IDL Hall Mark Love Pendant” bearing order no. SCM1200007405/7404.
Again few days back I got call from company, explaining me about their internal politics being played regarding the contest, in which I was informed that 3rd prize has to be given to someone else and to secure my name against the second prize (Foreign Tour), I have to do more shopping (about Rs. 72,000) which I clearly negated based on their foul intentions and my limited financial resources. I warned them about my intention of going to consumer court but they replied ‘we care least about your complaint’. Lot of scams are going in our country, who cares?
